3 new to Paramount+ shows you need to binge-watch this weekend (May 8-10)
You need to add these 3 Paramount+ shows to your weekend watchlist
Paramount+ has tons of new shows for your weekend binge-watch. The streaming service constantly adds new episodes of hit shows and even entire seasons to binge. It just added 82 new movies and shows on May 1 alone. These aren't all new original shows, either; the streamer also adds new shows from Paramount's networks, like CBS, as well as coproductions with international studios.
This weekend, I've got three shows worth watching in one sitting. First, there's "Battlestar Galactica." Specifically, the 2003 miniseries and the four-season reboot that followed it in 2004. This sci-fi universe has a devoted fan base, and you can binge those two "Battlestar" shows in their entirety now. You can also binge the entire five-season run of "Friday Night Lights," which is a major addition for Paramount+. Finally, there's "Marshals," a new spin-off sequel to "Yellowstone" that's now well into its first season.
So, here are the three new to Paramount+ shows you need to binge-watch this weekend. If you need more recommendations, check out everything coming to Paramount+ in May 2026 for more options.

Malcolm has been with Tom's Guide since 2022 and watches dozens of shows each year so you don't need to watch any bad ones. He's already watched over 15 seasons of TV this year, and thankfully, it's mostly been good.
'Battlestar Galactica' seasons 1-4
Genre: Science fiction series
What's it about? "Battlestar Galactica" is set at the shocking end of a 40-year armistice in a war between the humans of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol and the robotic Cylons. In a stunning move, the latter launches a surprise attack intended to exterminate the human race that created them. It largely works, leaving the aged spaceship Battlestar Galactica under the command of William Adama (Edward James Olmos), as one of the few remaining weapons against the Cylon scourge.
Why you should watch it: This sci-fi series is beloved, with an ardent fanbase, and Paramount+ just added all four seasons, plus the 2003 miniseries. If you're a sci-fi fan and haven't seen "Battlestar Galactica" before, now's the perfect time. Especially since it's also streaming for free on Pluto TV.

'Friday Night Lights' seasons 1-5
Genre: Sports drama series
What's it about? Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) is the head coach of the Dillon Panthers, in a part of Texas where high school football is a religion. Coach Taylor knows if he wins, he'll be exalted. If he loses, he'll be crucified. So it doesn't help matters when his starting quarterback (Scott Porter) is paralyzed in the opening game of the season.
Why you should watch it: Despite being based on an acclaimed non-fiction book that also spawned a beloved 2004 film of the same name, this 2006-2011 series is the first thing most people think of when they think of "Friday Night Lights." The cast is incredible, featuring Michael B. Jordan and Jesse Plemons, among others, and while it can veer into melodrama, it holds a place in the pantheon of great television shows.

'Marshals'
Genre: Neo-Western drama series
What's it about? "Marshals" stars "Yellowstone" actor Luke Grimes. He's reprising his role as Kayce Dutton in this hybrid sequel/spin-off, which follows the former U.S. Navy SEAL and rancher as he joins a specialized group of U.S. Marshals tasked with protecting the Montana wilderness.
Why you should watch it: Taylor Sheridan is sitting out this new "Yellowstone" spin-off, but many familiar faces are returning. Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty and Brecken Merrill all reprise their roles as Thomas Rainwater, Mo and Tate Dutton. Plus, it's been renewed for season 2, so you know you're committing to a show that isn't going away.
