Best Netflix top 10 shows — top 3 series you need to binge-watch this week (April 28-May 4)
These are the Netflix shows to add to your watchlist now
I track the most popular TV shows across streaming services for a living, and the best way to get a read on what’s drawing the most interest is typically each platform’s ever-rotating top 10 list. Netflix is no different. When I need a quick snapshot of the series currently gaining momentum, the Netflix top 10 is always my first point of call.
However, just because a show is making waves in the Netflix top 10 doesn’t guarantee it's a quality watch. Trust me, I’ve learned that lesson the hard way. Sometimes even the current No. 1 pick isn’t worth your time. That’s why I’ve combed through the current Netflix top 10 most-watched list and picked out three buzzy series that are worthy of your watch list.
A quick note: these picks are based on the Netflix U.S. top 10 as of Tuesday, April 28. And with that housekeeping sorted, here are the three Netflix shows to binge-watch this week.

'Running Point'
The debut season of “Running Point” was a great feel-good watch last year, and it appears the show has picked up where it left off in its sophomore run. It’s claimed the No. 1 spot over the weekend, and is holding firm at present. What it lacks in heightened drama, it makes up for with likeable characters, enjoyable comedy and an easy-to-root-for underdog spirit.
Kate Hudson plays Isla Gordon, once a wild child, now taking charge of the family business: the Los Angeles Waves basketball team. As season 2 opens, she has a little experience under her belt, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still hurdles to tackle both on and off the court. For starters, there’s the return of her brother Cam (Justin Theroux), with his own plans for the team, and the Waves are in contention for the world championship.

‘Unchosen’
If you’ll indulge me in a moment of patriotism, some of the best Netflix shows hail from my native U.K., and it looks like “Unchosen” might just be another winner from Old Blighty. This psychological thriller series is making a steady climb up the Netflix top 10, and seeing as it’s been described as a “creepy cult” series, I’m not too surprised. Plus, it stars “Sex Education’s” Asa Butterfield, giving the series a recognizable face to subscribers.

Set in a conservative Christian cult, Rosie (Molly Windsor) is a devoted follower, and a homemaking wife and mother. Sheltered from the outside world, a chance encounter with Sam (Fra Fee) sees Rosie embark on a journey of sexual discovery, and start to crave her own freedom and independence — something that her husband Sam (Butterfield) isn’t too pleased about. But can Rosie escape the cult and its rigid set of rules?

‘Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85’
There’s a part of me that’s quite shocked that a new “Stranger Things” TV show hasn’t rocketed straight to the top spot. Does this suggest that, following the divisive finale of the main series last year, fans are suffering from “Stranger Things” fatigue, or maybe it’s just that this animated spin-off hasn’t quite captured the imagination of the sci-fi franchise’s fanbase.
Either way, if you’re craving more time spent with the gang, “Tales from ‘85” delivers just that. It stars all your favorite characters from Eleven to Jim Hopper (though it should be noted not voiced by the original actors), and is set between the events of the second and third seasons. Inspired by classic ‘80s Saturday-morning cartoons, it’s a lighter take on “Stranger Things” that Netflix has pitched as the perfect jumping-in point for newbies, too.
