As January finally begins to loosen its grip, there’s a small but very real sense of relief in the air. This weekend marks our entry into February, meaning the January blues can officially be left behind as we look ahead to a new month packed with fresh releases. With a change of calendar comes the perfect excuse to reset and refresh your watchlist.

The first month of the year has a habit of dragging its feet, and when the weather refuses to cooperate, sinking into a genuinely gripping TV series remains one of the easiest forms of escapism. Thankfully, Netflix continues to keep things moving with a steady rollout of new titles. Still, with so many shows landing at once, it’s not always obvious which ones are truly worth your time. To help you kick off February on the right note, here are three new-to-Netflix shows that deserve a place on your weekend watchlist.

‘Bridgerton’

Dearest gentle readers, the long wait is finally at an end because “Bridgerton” is officially back for its fourth season. Netflix’s Regency-era romance returns with a fresh love story, this time placing Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) front and centre in a Cinderella-esque tale complete with secrets, mistaken identities and a dazzling masquerade ball. Since its debut in 2020, “Bridgerton” has grown into one of Netflix’s biggest global phenomena, and for very good reason. After binge-watching the first four episodes myself, I can confirm part 1 delivers on the steam fans have been waiting for.

“Bridgerton” season 4 focuses on Benedict, the second-eldest son of the family, who has never felt inclined to settle down until he meets a mysterious woman at his mother’s lavish masquerade ball. Captivated by the masked “Lady in Silver,” he becomes determined to find her again, unaware she’s Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), a resourceful lady’s maid working under an aristocratic household. While Benedict scours the social scene to uncover who she really is, mounting complications begin to test their connection.

‘Jekyll and Hyde’

Canceled shows can put some viewers off because of the possibility of an unfinished story or cliffhanger. But cancellation doesn’t erase the episodes that exist, and “Jekyll and Hyde” is worth experiencing for what it is rather than what it might have become. Based on the classic novella by Robert Louis Stevenson, the series has been reimagined as a 1930s adventure starring Tom Bateman, packed with action, supernatural elements, mystery, and period drama. While the cliffhanger may feel unsatisfying to some, it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment of this standalone ten-episode story.

“Jekyll and Hyde” follows Dr. Robert Jekyll (Bateman), the grandson of the famed Victorian doctor, who returns to 1930s London after receiving word about an inheritance. Upon arrival he uncovers his grandfather’s hidden laboratory and begins to piece together his family’s past. Robert soon discovers he has inherited the same condition that afflicted his ancestor: under extreme stress or danger he transforms into the powerful and uncontrollable Hyde. As he seeks answers about his lineage and the nature of his transformations, Robert crosses paths with members of a dangerous organisation intent on exploiting the Jekyll legacy.

‘The Way Home’

Another show returning with a new season is “The Way Home,” a time-travel drama that first airs on Hallmark Channel before making its way to Netflix several months later. Fans of compelling drama will likely enjoy the series, which has plenty of fantastical twists and family-friendly storytelling, making it appealing to both younger teens and adults. Season 1 even scored 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the show has continued to receive positive reception, leading to its renewal for a fourth season. Hallmark will premiere season 4 first, with Netflix streaming to follow later.

“The Way Home” follows three generations of the Landry family in the fictional town of Port Haven, Canada. When Katherine “Kat” Landry (Chyler Leigh) returns to her family’s farm with her teenage daughter, Alice (Sadie Laflamme‑Snow), she reunites with her estranged mother, Del (Andie MacDowell), after more than two decades apart. Soon after arriving, Alice discovers a mysterious pond on the property that allows travel between the present and different points in the past. In season 3, the characters continue to understand the mysteries of the time‑traveling pond and its effects on the family.
