After the emotional ending of “No Way Home,” seeing where Peter Parker goes next has me more curious than ever, especially with the mystery surrounding what’s coming for the web-slinger.
But whenever there’s a new “Spider-Man” movie on the horizon, there’s one thing you can always count on: the theories are going to get wild. From secret identities and multiversal twists to completely unexpected character reveals, fans have already been trying to piece together every clue, especially with Sadie Sink’s mysterious role being kept under wraps.
So, I spent the last two hours diving through the strangest corners of the internet to find some of the most unhinged “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” theories out there. And while some of them are genuinely outrageous, I might have come up with one that’s even crazier.

Today, we’re covering “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and the fan theories that could reveal what Marvel has planned for Peter Parker’s next chapter!

1. The hidden X-gene twist
One of the more complex “Spider-Man” theories online suggests a major rewrite of Peter Parker’s origin story. Instead of being someone who only gained powers from a radioactive spider bite, the theory claims Peter was actually born with a dormant X-gene, making him a mutant.
The spider bite would have simply activated abilities that were already inside him, similar to Wanda Maximoff’s later mutant connections in the MCU. Fans believe the physical changes shown in promotional material could represent Peter’s body developing new mutations, giving him abilities like organic web-shooting, enhanced durability, and protection from psychic scans like Cerebro.
The theory becomes even more interesting when connected to Sadie Sink’s mystery role. Some fans believe she is playing “Mary Jean Grey,” a new version of Jean Grey created by Loki and the TVA. According to this theory, she comes from a separate timeline after Doctor Strange’s spell and is sent to Earth-616 to protect Peter.
2. Peter’s venom problem
This second theory takes a darker approach, bringing together the comic storyline “The Other: Evolve or Die” and the Venom symbiote fragment left behind in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” After being transported to Earth-616, a small piece of the Venom symbiote may have remained behind and bonded with Peter, not to corrupt him, but to save him from a dangerous transformation happening inside his body.
Peter’s trauma and isolation might cause his DNA to break down, allowing his spider-like abilities to take over and slowly transform him into a feral “Man-Spider” hybrid. The Venom symbiote attaches itself to Peter’s cells to stabilize the mutation and keep him alive.
Fans believe the strange body changes, black eyes, web-like cocoon imagery, and violent behavior shown in the trailer could represent a battle between Peter’s evolving mutation and the symbiote trying to control it. The symbiote could eventually force Peter through a controlled rebirth, giving him permanent organic webbing and enhanced instincts before leaving him.
3. Gamma dualism and Hulk’s magic resistance
The next theory focuses on Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner and suggests that the Hulk may have been immune to Doctor Strange’s memory spell in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” The theory argues that Strange’s spell erased Peter Parker from the minds of everyone on Earth-616, but Hulk’s unique brain structure protected him from the magic.
Because Bruce Banner and Hulk share the same body but have different minds, the theory suggests a conflict begins between them. While Banner no longer remembers Peter, the Hulk side of him still recognizes Spider-Man and reacts with confusion, protectiveness, and aggression.
The theory heavily implies that an unseen villain could exploit this mental conflict, taking control of Banner’s unstable mind and unleashing Savage Hulk on New York. This would lead to a battle at Empire State University, where Spider-Man uses experimental gamma technology created with Banner to remove Hulk’s powers and change their relationship forever.
4. Tobey Maguire’s secret ‘Doomsday’ connection
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” could be used to reshape the “Spider-Man” franchise and connect the MCU with Tobey Maguire’s universe (Earth-96283).
The theory claims Sadie Sink is playing Mayday Parker (Spider-Girl), the daughter of Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker, who arrives in the MCU after her reality is damaged by a multiversal event. Instead of being a simple character introduction, fans believe the movie is setting up a major change for Spider-Man’s future.
According to the theory, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker could step away from being the MCU’s main Spider-Man after “Avengers: Doomsday,” with Mayday Parker and a future live-action Miles Morales taking over the role. The theory ends with a possible post-credits scene showing Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man being visited by the TVA or Deadpool, confirming him as a major Spider-Man figure heading into “Doomsday.”
5. Time loop theory and the body-hopping entity
The final theory takes the title “Brand New Day” literally, hinting that Peter Parker is trapped in a repeating time loop. The multiversal damage left behind in New York creates a localized time anomaly, forcing Peter to relive the same 24-hour period over and over with small changes each time.
The theory says that the loop begins with Peter waking up completely alone and trying to fight crime without his usual support system. A mysterious astral entity, possibly connected to characters like Shathra, the Spider-Queen, or the Beast of the Hand, attacks the city by freezing civilians through psychic powers.
The entity then moves between different hosts, taking control of figures like Bruce Banner, Damage Control agents, and other villains to hunt Spider-Man. Because Frank Castle (The Punisher) has suffered severe brain trauma, he could be immune to the entity’s abilities, forcing him and Peter to work together to uncover the truth.
Basically, if Peter fails to stop the entity, the day ends in disaster and the timeline resets, forcing him to wake up and begin the same “Brand New Day” all over again.
My own theory
I think Peter Parker is the new sorcerer supreme anchor
My theory might be one of the wildest “Spider-Man” theories out there right now, but the more I look at the pieces, the more it starts to make sense. You just have to hear me out.
Introduced in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” an Anchor Being is someone whose existence keeps an entire universe stable. If they die or are removed, their timeline slowly begins to collapse. While Logan was shown as Earth-10005’s Anchor Being, my theory centers around the idea that Peter Parker could be the Anchor Being of Earth-616.
After Tony Stark’s death in “Avengers: Endgame,” Peter became one of the universe’s most important figures, tying into the comic concept of the Web of Life and Destiny, where Spider-Man acts as a key multiversal connection.
In “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” Peter’s possible transformation, mutation, and near-death experience could weaken his Anchor Being status, causing Earth-616 to fracture and setting up the events of “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars.”
