Apple Vision Pro may get an all-new striking color option soon — here's what we know

With Apple's "Awe Dropping" event just over the horizon, we'll soon find out all there is to know about the iPhone 17 lineup, AirPods Pro 3 and Apple Watch 11. But wild cards are expected, and a bold new look for the Apple Vision Pro could drop.
Since its release back in 2024, the Apple Vision Pro has only received software updates, including the upcoming visionOS 26. Now, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests the Vision Pro is expected to come in a Space Black color option. If accurate, finally, Apple's spatial computing headset will offer more than one option.
This is akin to the Space Black color options for the MacBook Pro M4 models, and similar to the Black colorway update seen on the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
Currently, the Apple Vision Pro comes in just one colorway, with its signature silver and white finish. Adding a popular color option will certainly draw appeal, but probably not enough to give in to its hefty $3,499 asking price.
While an all-new popular color option for Apple's headset would be welcome, rumor has it that the Vision Pro 2 could launch soon. It's expected to be revealed this October, and if this is true, Apple may wait to show off this rumored Space Black model with its successor.
An Apple Vision Pro announcement soon?
There are several products to expect at Apple's "Awe Dropping" event, from the iPhone 17 Air to the Apple Watch SE 3, and while the Cupertino tech giant may have a surprise up its sleeve, an Apple Vision Pro announcement may seem a tad out of place.
As previously reported, the Apple Vision Pro 2 is tipped to be announced later this year, sporting an M4 chip (or M5 chip) and a redesigned strap. This is also expected to come in a Space Black color option, along with the same colorway as the first headset.

It makes sense that Apple will announce the Space Black option with its next headset, which may also apply to the original Vision Pro. It isn't out of the realm of possibility that the tech giant will make a quick announcement during the iPhone 17 event, though, or possibly in a simple press release.
In any case, it won't be long until we find out. As another candidate in what may be announced during the "Awe Dropping" event, the AirTags 2 could make an appearance, and rumors suggest support for the tracker within visionOS.
