I love this massive 14-inch tablet with a paper-like display — and it’s $100 off right now
Go big, matte and glare-free with this deal
As smartphones have gotten bigger and bigger, you might find yourself wondering if you even need a tablet anymore. With a standard 10-inch tablet, you’re not really getting that much more screen real estate, but that couldn’t be further from the truth with the TCL NXTPAPER 14.
It sports a massive 14.3-inch display, and when turned sideways to watch a movie or a TV show, the device feels more like a portable monitor than a tablet. Then in portrait mode, I really felt like I was holding a clipboard in my hand in the best kind of way.
What really sets the TCL NXTPAPER 14 apart from the best iPads and other tablets though is its display. With the push of a button on the side, you can switch between three viewing modes: Regular Mode, Color Paper Mode and Ink Paper Mode.
This tablet comes equipped with a massive 14.3-inch, 2.4k display that gives you plenty of screen space for both reading and drawing. It comes equipped with TCL’s NXTPAPER 3.0 tech but I found it works just as well as the newer version for the most part. You get 256GB of storage, 8GB of RAM and the best part, an equally massive 10,000 mAh battery which also features fast and reverse charging. It too comes with a stylus and a case included.

With Ink Paper Mode enabled, the NXTPAPER 14 transforms from a standard Android tablet into a black and white slate that offers a reading experience on par with one of the best Kindles but supersized. Doing so also helps save battery life, but with a 10,000 mAh battery under the hood, finding a charger isn’t something you’re going to have to worry about all that often.
Having tried both the NXTPAPER 14 and the smaller yet more powerful NXTPAPER 11 Plus, one thing I really like about TCL’s unique tablets is that they come with a case and a stylus right in the box. You don’t get a screen protector, but I wouldn’t use one with a NXTPAPER device anyways since their matte displays feel great under your fingertips. The stylus recharges via USB-C and attaches to the included case magnetically so you don’t have to worry about misplacing it.
Not the only NXTPAPER
If you haven’t figured it out by now, this super-sized tablet is part of TCL’s wider NXTPAPER ecosystem. Sure, there are other NXTPAPER tablets, but there are also smartphones that come equipped with this same display tech to make reading a lot easier on your eyes. At the same time, you also won’t have to worry about glare when you’re outside since their matte screens aren’t reflective at all.
If the NXTPAPER 14 is a bit too big for your hands — or your use case — don’t worry, as you can still find plenty of great deals on the rest of TCL’s NXTPAPER devices right now.
