The keyboard is extremely lightweight and easy to carry around, while its ergonomic and comfortable OSA profile keycaps meant I was typing for hours with complete ease. It’s highly customizable, and polls at up to 8,000Hz, making it a great option for serious gaming once you’ve finished work.

Keychron has turned its legendary K2 from a custom productivity board into a gaming monster thanks to Gateron double-rail magnetic switches. The Keychron K2 HE has a roster of features commonly seen in top-tier gaming boards, including rapid trigger, last key prioritization and multiple actuation points.

The Keychron V1 Max is the wireless version of one of my favorite mechanical keyboards, the V1. It gives you everything you want from a mechanical keyboard: a solid, durable build, an outstanding typing experience and sound, hot-swapability and easy-to-use companion software. All this for sub-$100 makes the V1 unbeatable for the price, and it’s the ideal keyboard for office use.

The Epomaker Glyph is the most fun mechanical keyboard I’ve had the pleasure of testing. Packing responsive, light Wisteria V2 linear switches and boasting a creamy and buttery sound profile, the Glyph puts the joy back into typing. The keyboard sports a charming typewriter-like design with dual screens and customizable RGB lighting, and build quality is solid too.

The Epomaker Ajazz AK820 Pro leaves no stone unturned. It looks awesome and is built really well, plus it’s hot-swappable. Typing on this keyboard is a delight, and the intuitive companion software lets you easily remap keys and customize RGB lighting. And the price? Just $55 in this year's Prime Day sales, making this keyboard an absolute steal.

This is the 'Lite' version of the Epomaker HE68 which I absolutely loved testing. It packs 8,000Hz polling, per-key and quad-actuation and more. It looks lovely with its minimalist design, and it’s great to type on too. It’s important to note, though, that this keyboard is wired-only and switch choice is limited. Given how cheap it is, though, neither of those feel like dealbreakers.

As its name suggests, this is the 96% version of the NuPhy Halo75 V2. It's gorgeous to look at, listen to and type on. It polls at 1,000Hz in 2.4G mode, so will be fast enough for gaming, too. We have our gripes about it, but all are pretty minor. This is doubtless a worthy successor to the original Halo75.

The NuPhy Air75 V3 improves on its predecessor in every way that matters. It’s better looking, better sounding, with better type feel, better battery life and better firmware. It also uses new Gateron low-profile switches, which feature long 3.5mm travel, giving the Air75 V3 the spacious feel of a standard-profile board.

Not many keyboards get full 5/5 star ratings, but this is one of those rare instances. The NuPhy Node75 is a stellar mechanical keyboard, with no serious flaws. It types and sounds great, looks good and demonstrates the best implementation of touch control I’ve seen from any keyboard (and I’ve tested a lot). It’s also highly customizable and, best of all, reasonably priced.

The SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini offers a high-quality build and a versatile range of per-key customization options, designed specifically for competitive gamers. This is a fantastic keyboard for gaming and is an easy recommendation if you are looking for a competitive edge, particularly thanks to its Rapid Trigger functionality and switchable onboard profiles.

The Hexgears Immersion A3 TKL is a fantastic low-profile keyboard for productivity, thanks to the super silent Kailh linear switches. Its 1,000Hz polling rate is also well-suited to casual gaming, and its sturdy build and customizable RGB and TFT screen make it a joy to use. This is the keyboard I use when I work from home.

The Royal Kludge R65 is a fantastic mechanical keyboard to type on and listen to, even though it's wired-only. That shouldn't hold you back, though, as the keyboard packs hot-swappable switches, dynamic RGB lighting, and its 60% layout makes it perfect to travel with.

The Royal Kludge L75 is one of the best mechanical keyboards I've typed on and tested. It’s fitted with responsive pre-lubed switches that are a dream to type on, and the sound profile is delightful too. The dedicated macro keys and long battery life make it a productivity machine, while web-based companion software eases customization.

The Razer BlackWidow V4 is an ideal product for keyboard modders and those curious about the hobby. While its hot-swappable design is the main draw, this keyboard is excellent for both gaming and work right out of the box.
