Black Friday action camera deals are live — huge savings on the latest GoPro, DJI and Insta360 gear
There's never been a better time to buy an action camera
If you're suffering from Monday blues, I've got some good news for you: Black Friday deals are now live! As a senior editor here at Tom's Guide, in charge of all our cameras coverage, I track the prices of the best action cameras and best 360 cameras throughout the year. But I keep a particularly close eye on them around this time.
Black Friday action camera deals usually represent the best prices we see throughout the year, so now is the perfect time to pick up a new rugged camera to film your high-octane pursuits. My favorite deal so far is on the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro Essential Combo, currently just $259 at Amazon — its cheapest price ever.
I review every single action camera from the major manufacturers, so each entry on this list has been past me personally. Some I'm currently testing right now, and I even own (or have owned) most of them!
Here are my favorite deals so far, although I'll be tracking all the prices and updating this page all week. I'll provide my analysis for each entry to tell you whether I think you should buy right away in confidence, or keep an eye to see if prices drop further as we approach Black Friday itself.

[LOWEST PRICE] This is my top GoPro deal, as it bundles the fantastic Hero13 Black with extra Enduro batteries, a charging adapter, case and SD card. That's a lot of extra gear, and with this deal it's only $30 pricier than the base Hero13 Black deal below. It's a no-brainer.

The GoPro Hero13 Black is GoPro's current flagship action camera. It shoots 5.3K/60fps and is waterproof to 33 feet. Its range of pro features earned it a 4.5* score in my GoPro Hero13 Black review. The cheapest I've seen this camera drop is $299 last Black Friday. So, at only $20 pricier, this is a good deal, but it's worth holding off a little to see if this drops further over the week.

If you'd prefer something with a little more pizzaz than the original black colorway, you can also buy the GoPro Hero13 Black in, well, not black! This limited edition variant is Forest Green, which looks pretty cool in my opinion. It may also be a better shout if you need camouflage — for stashing in bird hides for example. This is currently on sale for the same price as the standard model, so there's really no downside.

Again, if you'd like something a little different to the black colorway, or you need camouflage for snowy environments, the Polar White edition of the Hero13 Black is also on sale for the same price as the standard model.

One of the Hero13 Black's defining features is its wide array of Lens Mods, with more lenses available than on previous models — from macro, to ultra wide and even anamorphic mods. This Ultra Wide edition gives you a huge 177-degree field of view. It's dropped $110 for Black Friday, although I saw it drop another $40 to $329 last year, so keep an eye on the price as it may drop further.

The GoPro Hero12 Black price has also dropped. I owned this camera for about nine months, and it's still a solid camera. It shoots the same 5.3K/60fps video as the newer Hero13 Black. And the only major difference is that the Hero12 can't use the later model's wider array of lens mods. I've seen this camera drop as low as $249 in last year's Black Friday sales, so keep an eye on this one as I expect to to drop again this week.

The tiny GoPro Hero (2024) was GoPro's smallest action camera when it launched (and is now the joint smallest after the LIT Hero release this year). It shoots 4K/30fps video and boasts strong battery life. This camera dropped to $169 earlier in the year and we might see it drop a little further in the coming days. However, this $179 price is level with last year's Black Friday price, so still a decent deal.

[LATEST MODEL] This GoPro was only launched a few weeks back, so it's great to see it already at a discount. By default, this is its lowest price! It's an updated version of the original Hero (2024), with a built-in front light and some upgraded features. I'm actually midway through testing this camera right now. It offers 4K/60fps as opposed to the 4K/30fps of the original Hero, making it better for fast-paced action content. Yet it's just as tiny, so can be mounted anywhere! Given how new it is, I don't expect this camera to drop much further.

[LATEST MODEL] What. A. Camera. In my GoPro MAX2 review, this camera earned 4.5* and a spot on my top 360 cameras guide as "best for pros", because it is. Its pro features like "true" 8K, Log recording and GoPro labs custom firmware make it ideal for serious content creators. This is another camera launched only weeks back, making this the lowest price ever! I doubt it'll drop lower than this given how new it is, so you can buy in confidence now.

GoPro has slashed the price of its Premium subscription for Black Friday, so you can now get 12 months of its basic tier service for half price. This gets you unlimited storage for footage shot on GoPros, 50% off accessories, $100 off another GoPro (at subscription renewal) and guaranteed camera replacement if yours is damaged. Not bad. This is the typical discount price which we see at this time of year, and I doubt this product will be reduced further this week.

[LOWEST PRICE] If you're only going to snap up one action camera deal over Black Friday, make it this one! The Osmo Action 5 Pro has dropped to an incredibly low $259. That's the cheapest I've ever seen. What's more, this is the Essential Combo, so comes with some handy accessories over the base combo. Get this deal while you can because I don't expect it to stick around.

[LOWEST PRICE] The older DJI Osmo Action 4 is also on sale, and now at its lowest ever price. This camera doesn't offer quite as much finesse as its younger siblings, the Osmo Action 5 Pro and Osmo Action 6, but it's still a fantastic action camera, shooting 4K/60fps content. This is the lowest I've ever seen this camera so if you're looking for a competent budget cam, now is a perfect time to scoop up this deal.

[LOWEST PRICE] Honestly, I wasn't expecting such a huge deal on this camera given it only launched a few months back. The DJI Osmo 360 is currently nearly $200 off, which makes this serious Insta360 X5 and GoPro MAX2 competitor a massive steal. It shoots lovely 8K 360 footage and offers seamless integration with other products in DJI's ecosystem. Given this is the cheapest price ever for this camera, I doubt it'll go much lower, even on Black Friday itself. I'd advise buying this camera now.

[LOWEST PRICE] Another huge deal, this time on my top 360 camera, the Insta360 X5. This is the best 360 camera for most people thanks to its combination of fantastic image quality, excellent audio, its easy to use app and editing software, and its straight-to-social workflow ethos. It's pricey, sure, but it's the best 360 camera on the market, and is now cheaper than ever. I don't see this camera dropping much further this week, so now is a great time to buy.

[LOWEST PRICE] Another lowest ever price on Insta360 gear. OK, so the Insta360 X4 isn't quite as formidable as the X5, but it's still an epic 360 camera that offers 8K 360 recording. And for under $300, this is as good as 360 cams get. I've not seen this camera drop as low as this before, and I doubt it'll drop much further this week, if at all.

The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is an extremely powerful action camera, capable of shooting in 8K at 30fps, giving editors lots of space to crop into frame while maintaining 4K exported footage. This is as low as I've seen this camera go, but it was overpriced to begin with. I'd hold off to see if it drops any further, but if it doesn't, I'd recommend picking up a GoPro Hero13 Black or DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro for less money.

The Insta360 Go 3S is a tiny camera offering the last word in versatility and 4K/30fps video. The GoPro LIT Hero is much cheaper still, even with this deal, but can't match the Go 3S's sheer tiny dimensions. I have a suspicion we may see this drop a little further, although this is already a pretty good deal and the lowest ever price on this camera (it was kinda overpriced to begin with though).

Once again, an Insta360 product has hit its lowest ever price, although I'd hold out to see if this one goes lower. The Insta360 Go Ultra is the brand's ultimate tiny camera, but is borderline obscenely priced at MSRP. It shoots 4K/60fps, but unless this camera drops lower, I'd recommend the GoPro LIT Hero instead for 4K/60.
