If, like me, you’re marathon training for a spring event right now, the odds are your longest runs are coming up soon. When you see 20+ miles on the training plan for the weekend, you’re going to want an extremely supportive running shoe to do them in.
The Saucony Hurricane 24 is that shoe, and whether you’re marathon training or just want a highly cushioned and stable running sneaker for daily training, it’s worth looking at, especially now it’s dropped to $89 at Amazon.
That’s the lowest price I’ve ever seen the Hurricane 24 available for and not far off half its original price of $160.
Both the men’s and women’s Saucony Hurricane 24 are heavily discounted at Amazon right now, with multiple colors and a good range of sizes available. A few select shoes in random sizes are even cheaper — I’ve seen some as low as $83 — but there are more options going for $89.
The Saucony Hurricane 24 was a major update on what we’ve seen before from the line, becoming a more cushioned and comfortable shoe that provides stability by using two foams in the midsole.
At the core is a bouncy, responsive material that’s then framed by a firmer foam that provides support on both sides of your foot as you roll through your footstrike.
Add in the wide base of the shoe and sidewalls of foam your foot sits within and you have a naturally stable ride that’s also pleasantly rockered to help you roll through the miles in comfort.
I’ve tested the Hurricane 24 and newer Hurricane 25 extensively and while I slightly prefer the 25 because it’s a little lighter, the difference isn’t big enough to justify paying $70 more for the latest model.
The Hurricane 24 isn’t a great option for fast runs but for easy efforts and long runs when you just want protection and smooth, supportive ride, it’s great, and this deal makes it an even more attractive option.
