iRobot just launched an entire wave of new Roombas — but here are the ones I'm really excited about

It has been a tumultuous time for iRobot. The Roomba maker filed for bankruptcy after 35 years — but that doesn't mean it's done making robot vacuums. No, quite the opposite. After an acquisition by Picea, iRobot just announced an entirely new line-up of Roombas ready to roll.

Joining the portfolio, there's not one, not two, not... You get it. There are eight new Roombas with a swathe of new technology onboard. Though what I'm most intrigued to hear is that several models are measuring up to 25% smaller in overall volume than previous generations.

That's not the only exciting feature though, as we delve amongst the new robots to see what's on offer. For now, the models will be rolling out across the U.K. from £229 to £799, as well as in North America from mid-2026. However, more details on prices to follow.

The Roomba 115 is the most affordable of the new Roomba range. At entry-level, it still packs up to 15,000 Pa suction, combines smart navigation into its compact design, and works efficiently and quietly around your home.

Smarter cleaning, smaller size

If you're living in a smaller footprint like an apartment or loft, or maybe in a home where you keep on top of the mess on a daily basis, the Roomba 115 fits into place alongside the recently launched Roomba Mini, coined by iRobot as "the world's smallest cleaning robot". The Mini though is £379 against the 115's entry-level pricing of £229. With up to 15,000 Pa of suction for everyday crumbs and mess, it's a compact design but it's still got a lot of power behind it.

For bigger homes with busier lives, iRobot is also launching the Roomba Plus with five different Combo Robots that can vacuum and mop at the same time. With 20,000-30,000 Pa of suction, it'll sweep up those crumbs and wipe up any spills it comes across. But, it's the 615 or 675 that'll put in an extra work.

Put it this way, if you were at a car wash, it's like paying for a tiered clean with the high-end wax option. With these two robots, you get a pressurised hot-spray pre-treatment and heated mopping to really maximize an efficient clean. Plus, there's a complete tangle-free system on board so you don't have to keep clearing out those hairs.

And while the main Plus range has ClearView LiDAR intelligence, the 575, 615, and 675 use AI visual recognition with ClearView Pro LiDAR, showing you really do get a lot more for your money. And it'll clean itself afterwards with the AutoWash dock.

Finally, there's the two Max options with what iRobot is calling the "most advanced performance". Up to 30,000 Pa of suction, advanced roller mopping and carpet-cleaning, specialized brushes, hot spot mopping, odor-reducing, and the AutoWash dock some of the fancy features.

Here's why I can't wait to try it

Previous Roombas, like the Roomba Plus 505 Combo, impressed us so much that we almost gave it a full five stars. And we've tested enough impressive models that we've generated this best Roombas list. So, a new Roomba range is an exciting proposition.

While there's the addition of the AutoWash on some models, as well as some being smaller in size, I think I'm most excited to try the Roomba Plus 575, 615 or 675 for its Pro LiDAR technology and AI visual recognition.

With heavier cleaning demands thanks to two small kids causing constant crumbs around my house, I'm also excited about the Roomba Max to take on all the surfaces in my home with its advanced features. And in terms of pricing, £799 for the top model in iRobot's new line-up does make it competitively priced amongst its rivals, such as the Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal Robot Vacuum and Roborock Saros 20, which will set you back £1100 each.

We do consider these two of the best robot vacuums we've tested, though, so it'll be interesting to see how it measures up when we finally get one of the new range in the testing rooms.
