When it comes to Grand Theft Auto VI, the moment any kind of new rumor emerges, the internet goes absolutely bonkers. That's exactly what's happening with a PlayStation Store Update.
It seems small, but any change serves as a reminder that the company is working on something (which should be obvious, considering the game is coming at some point).
The PlayStation Store page for Grand Theft Auto VI was updated to include mentions of GTA+, Rockstar Games' subscription service. While it's probably just Sony preparing for the launch — currently set for May 26, 2026 — it has people thinking that a big announcement could be imminent.
What else has the GTA VI speculation running wild?
A simple listing change on the PlayStation Store is enough to get people thinking about the game, but there's a little more to it. Adding more fuel to the fire is Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar's parent company) hosting an earnings call on November 6 (two days from this writing).
This could prompt the company to post a new trailer for the game. Rockstar and Take-Two have previously released new details for games before investor calls as a way to appease shareholders and build excitement.
It's been exactly six months since the last trailer, so the timing lines up perfectly for something new to come from Rockstar and what will likely be the biggest video game launch of all time.
To temper expectations, though, the second trailer for GTA VI came out on May 6, 10 days before the earnings call for that quarter. Considering we're two days from the latest one, the timing is a bit off. The first GTA VI trailer was announced to be coming soon before the call, but it didn't actually release before it.

And with a new trailer could come an updated release window (the game has seen its share of delays leading up to the current 2026 launch date. Or launch window, since the company has yet to reveal an official date.
And let's not forget that at the end of October, Rockstar Games updated its website with a new design, which led fans to believe a third GTA 6 trailer is on the way.
I wouldn't be surprised if a new trailer is released soon, but I wouldn't be surprised if Rockstar Games remains silent and nothing happens until closer to the game's release date.
To me, it seems like fans are setting themselves up for disappointment.
