New 'Stranger Things' season 5 trailer hints at major trouble for Steve and Dustin — watch it now
Netflix just dropped a 'Stranger Things' trailer you won't want to miss
We're just 10 days out from the next batch of "Stranger Things" season 5 episodes, and Netflix has just treated us to a new trailer teasing what's still to come in the show's final chapter. I have one burning question going into the next volume: the Duffer brothers wouldn't really kill off Steve, right?
Picking up from that cliffhanger mid-season break at the end of episode 4 (dodging spoilers wherever possible), this teaser sees things really kicking into gear. If we take volume 1 as the build-up, this sure sets the stage for an epic struggle for survival. Check it out below:
It's a trailer that's purpose-built to send hype levels into the stratosphere as there's peril around every corner. There are firefights, demodogs are running amok out into the real world, Eleven's determined to find her foe, and Vecna's proclaiming "it's time ... for a new world."
Fellow Steve fans are no doubt concerned by one particular exchange, though. Around the 1:30 mark, Dustin and Steve exchange just a couple of words with one another: "You die, I die." Could this be it for some of our core members? We'll have to tune in to "Stranger Things" season 5 volume 2 when it drops later this month to find out.
Excited? "Stranger Things" season 5 volume 2 releases at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on December 25, 2025 (or 1 a.m. GMT on Dec. 26, for U.K. readers), so you'll want to plan your holiday viewing accordingly if you're hoping to binge-watch the next drop upon release.
As one final reminder, this won't quite be the end of "Stranger Things" just yet: the feature-length finale will arrive right at the end of the year on December 31 or January 1, depending on your timezone. Check out the "Stranger Things" season 5 release schedule for a comprehensive breakdown of when you can stream the whole show.
