Netflix is adding 15 new shows and movies to the streaming service this week. While that may not seem like a lot, there are more than a few must-watch new titles you'll want to add to your watchlist. My top pick of the week is "Black Rabbit," a tense crime thriller limited series starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman as brothers who find themselves in more trouble than they may be able to get out of this time.

If dark thrillers aren't your thing, though, there's a decent range of genres to choose from this week. "Same Day with Someone" is a Thai romantic comedy about a woman stuck in a time loop on the worst day of her life. Prefer your comedy in animated form? "Haunted Hotel" is an animated comedy series about a single mother and her estranged brother trying to manage a hotel overrun with all sorts of scary beings.

So for more to watch, read on for all of my top picks, a full list of everything new on Netflix this week and the scoop on what's leaving Netflix this week. New on Netflix this week: Top picks

'Black Rabbit'

"Black Rabbit" stars Jude Law as Jake Friedken, the owner of the titular restaurant and lounge. Jake is hoping this new spot will shoot him to the top of the food chain in New York's nightlife, but before he can even savor his success, Jake's brother Vince (Bateman) shows up, and so do Vince's debts.

That debt is now Jake's problem with Vince back in town. Specifically, a two grand a week debt that Vince owed gangster Joe Mancuso (Troy Kotsur). If Jake can't pay that debt on Vince's behalf, he could lose everything. But despite Vince being a liability, Jake still can't just toss his brother aside.

This show seems to have everything I want from a miniseries. The cast is loaded with talent. Law and Kotsur have three Oscar nominations between them (and Kotsur has one win), and Bateman has several acting Emmy nominations of his own. I can't wait to hit play on "Black Rabbit" this week.

'Same Day with Someone'

Calling this a Thai version of "Groundhog Day" feels reductive. But after watching the trailer (which, frustratingly, did not have English subtitles), it's tough to call "Same Day with Someone" anything else. The movie stars Toey Jarinporn Joonkiat as Mesa Worathepanant, and she seemingly has a great life. But that life falls apart on one fateful day: Aug. 8, 2025.

That day, Mesa's fiancé leaves her and a priceless artifact under her care as a curator is damaged, crashing to the ground and breaking in half. But instead of getting to move past the trauma of the day, Mesa instead gets to relive it. Over. And over. And over again.

If you love a Netflix rom-com and can handle some subtitles, then "Same Day with Someone" looks like a fun movie to stream this week.

'Haunted Hotel'

"Haunted Hotel" stars the voice of Eliza Coupe as Katherine (Eliza Coupe). She's a single mother struggling to make ends meet by running the Undervale Hotel, which isn't easy ... largely because it happens to be haunted. She has some help from her estranged brother, Nathan (Will Forte), and her kids Ben (Skyler Gisondo) and Esther (Natalie Palamides). But the resident demon Abbadon isn't always the best help, even if he is possessing the body of a little boy from the 1700s.

If you're like me and love an animated adult comedy, then "Haunted Hotel" should be on your watchlist. Not only is the voice cast loaded with talent, including a guest-starring role for the legendary Keith David as one of Abbadon's old friends from Hell, but the writers' room has some real pedigree. The show was created by "Rick and Morty" writer Matt Roller, whose resume also includes "Krapopolis," "Archer," "Community" and more beloved comedy shows from the past two decades.

'Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story'

Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story | Official Trailer | Netflix - YouTube Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story | Official Trailer | Netflix - YouTube
Watch On

Netflix has many documentaries, but the more "scandalous" ones are typically not my thing. However, after watching the trailer for "Rebel Royals," even I might be sold on watching this one.

This documentary from "Tiger King" director Rebecca Chaiklin centers around the controversial relationship between Märtha Louise of Norway, the eldest daughter of the King of Norway, and Durek Verrett, a self-proclaimed shaman. Verrett is ... eccentric, to say the least, and the relationship has scandalized many in Norway because of some of the conspiracy theories he promotes, among other things.

That said, by all accounts, Märtha Louise seems to be fairly eccentric in her own right and she and Durek might be weirdly made for each other. Sure, their marriage is potentially eroding the reputation of the Norwegian royal family, but that doesn't mean "Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story" isn't a great movie to watch this week.

The CIA, to most people, is the shadowy U.S. government clandestine service with a chequered past. But in the fine dining industry, it's the Culinary Institute of America, and it's one of the most prestigious culinary schools in the world.

In "Next Gen Chef," the CIA will play host to 21 of the hottest chefs under 30, and each will have to go through a series of grueling tests to determine which up-and-coming culinary genius is the next great chef. Winning doesn't just come with glory, though. It also comes with a $500,000 grand prize.

'Matchroom: The Greatest Showmen'

Matchroom: The Greatest Showmen | Official Trailer | Netflix - YouTube Matchroom: The Greatest Showmen | Official Trailer | Netflix - YouTube

Matchroom Sport was founded by Barry Hearn, and in the trailer for "Matchroom: The Greatest Showmen," he describes it as initially being a "£100 business" that is now worth over £1 billion. He runs it with his son Eddie Hearn, and the sports promotion enterprise handles everything from boxing matches to snooker, darts and more.

But Barry isn't convinced Eddie should take over just yet, and Eddie reveals he didn't even want to work for his dad initially. So, unsurprisingly, this sports documentary series brings plenty of drama with it, as this father-and-son duo try and keep the company strong and figure out its next steps.

What happens when you put a group of the world's wealthiest families into a luxury underground bunker as the world collapses above you? Nothing good, if the trailer for "Billionaires' Bunker" is any indication.

This new Netflix series comes from Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, the team behind the acclaimed Spanish Netflix series "Money Heist," and it revolves around two families within the Kimera Underground Park luxury bunker. These families are forced to shelter here as the world tears itself apart in unprecedented global conflict, and may never be able to safely return to the surface.

But even that can't prevent old feuds from resurfacing, and these two families quickly find themselves at each other's throats.
