5 best new Netflix movies and shows to stream this week (July 20-26)
Don't miss 'Ransom Canyon,' 'Wicked: For Good' and more
If you're looking to find what new movies and shows Netflix is adding this week, I've got you covered. The streaming service is adding just 15 new movies and shows this week. But there are quite a few titles still worth adding to your watchlist.
Top of the list is "Ransom Canyon" season 2. The hit neo-Western is back for another round, and it's by far the biggest series arriving this week. But the biggest name coming to Netflix this week is "Wicked: For Good." If you've been waiting to see the conclusion to "Wicked," now's your chance.
If those aren't your speed, though, there are some other options. "72 Hours" is a new comedy movie from Kevin Hart and will definitely provide a few laughs. Or, if you prefer to be horrified, "A Toxic Love Story" features a twisted tale of stalking and betrayal. Finally, for the wrestling fans out there, "WWE Unreal" season 3 arrives this week to give you a behind-the-scenes look at John Cena's last time in the ring.
Those aren't the only movies, shows and live events to add to your watchlist this week, though. Here's the full schedule of everything new on Netflix over the next seven days, along with my top picks for what you need to stream. Don't forget to check out everything new on Netflix in July 2026 for even more movies and shows to check out.

New on Netflix this week: Top picks
'Ransom Canyon' season 2
Genre: Romantic neo-Western series
What it's about: "Ransom Canyon" centers around the romance between Quinn (Minka Kelly) and the rancher Staten (Josh Duhamel). Things looked promising in season 1, but fell apart as soon as they started. But Quinn is back after some time away in the big city, and the cowboy Staten is ready to win her back.
Why you should watch it: If you like a soapy drama, this should be right up your alley. While Staten hopes to get Quinn back, she's already got a new man (Ben Robson). So this season is guaranteed to get messy.

'Wicked: For Good'
Genre: Musical fantasy movie
What's it about? "Wicked: For Good" is the second half of John Chu's blockbuster adaptation of the musical "Wicked." In this reimagining of "The Wizard of Oz," the protagonist is Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), the Wicked Witch of the West and the movie retells her complicated relationship with her college roommate, Galinda (Ariana Grande), aka Glinda the Good, using song and dance.
Why you need to watch it: If you saw "Wicked" and loved it, but have been waiting to watch "Wicked: For Good," now is the time. It's not as good as the first movie, but I found it surprisingly enjoyable when I saw it in theaters.

'72 Hours'
Genre: Comedy movie
What it's about: Joe (Kevin Hart) is a 40-year-old business executive who ends up accidentally added to the group chat of a bunch of 20-somethings. That could get crazy enough, but things go to a whole other level when he decides to join them on a three-day Miami bachelor party.
Why you should watch it: "72 Hours" might end up being funnier than good, but the trailer does show some promise that it'll at least be funny. Plus, the cast includes some "Saturday Night Live" cast members, Academy Award nominee Teyana Taylor and the legendary Andy Garcia. So, maybe it will be good after all.
Watch "72 Hours" on Netflix starting July 24
'A Toxic Love Story'
Genre: True crime documentary movie
What it's about: U.S. Deputy Marshal Ian Diaz and his wife, Ashley, were freshly married when she started receiving threats. They traced them back to Ian's ex, Michelle, and she was eventually arrested. But that's when everything started to fall apart.
Why you should watch it: "A Toxic Love Story" explores the truly messed-up tale of the Anaheim "rape fantasy" plot. It's got twists you won't see coming. If you're a true crime fan, this movie is a must-watch.
Watch "A Toxic Love Story" on Netflix starting July 22
'WWE: Unreal' season 3
Genre: Sports docuseries
What it's about: "WWE Unreal" takes you behind the scenes of the world's largest wrestling outfit. Normally, you get a look at all the stars, rising and established, on its roster. But season 3 is largely about one man: John Cena.
Why you should watch it: This season is perhaps the final chapter in Cena's goodbye. Make sure to add the show to your watchlist and watch the end of his journey. This season also highlights some of the stars hoping to take up Cena's mantle as the face of WWE at this past April's WrestleMania 42.
