3 new to Netflix thriller movies you need to stream this week — and one of them is rated 92% by viewers on Rotten Tomatoes
Don’t miss these thriller movies just added to Netflix
Netflix’s slate for November 2025 is rolling out now, and there’s good news for thriller fans. While the streaming service’s latest original, “Ballad of a Small Player,” was a bit of a misfire (with critics and viewers alike), the platform’s movie library just got more than 40 new additions.
Unsurprisingly, these new to Netflix movies include several thrillers, and seeing as Netflix subscribers clearly love thrillers, I’m picking out the three you should add to your watch list this week. My picks range from an Edgar Wright action-thriller meticulously set to a note-perfect soundtrack, and a criminally overlooked film starring an Oscar-winning actor.
If you want to add some excitement to your midweek watching, here are the three new to Netflix thriller movies that have most caught my eye.
Netflix thriller movies worth watching this week
‘Baby Driver’ (2017)
Director Edgar Wright’s latest movie, “The Running Man” with Gen Powell, sprints into theatres next week, making now the perfect time to dive into the British filmmaker's back catalog. In a lovely bit of serendipity (or perhaps planned synergy), his wonderfully rhythmic 2017 action-thriller “Baby Driver” was just added to Netflix’s movie library. Composed almost like a music video, with action scenes timed to its strong soundtrack, it’s one of Wright’s crowning achievements, which is really saying something in a career full of strong efforts.
Miles (Ansel Elgort), also known as Baby, is a skilled getaway driver who uses music to drown out tinnitus suffered as a result of the car crash that killed his parents. Taken under the wing of criminal kingpin Doc (Kevin Spacey), Baby becomes disillusioned with a life of crime when he meets Debora (Lily James), and the two plan an escape to start a new life. However, he’s forced to complete one last job alongside a group of robbers (Jon Hamm, Eiza González and Jamie Foxx), and things quickly go south.

‘The Outfit’ (2022)
“The Outfit” is a tightly wound and deliciously tense crime thriller that plays out in a single location, giving it an almost stage production quality (and I mean that as a huge compliment). It’s certainly the most overlooked thriller added to Netflix in the last few days, but it’s well worth your attention, thanks to a strong lead performance from Oscar winner Mark Rylance and a narrative that constantly raises the stakes. It also has a fantastic third-act twist, which is always welcome in a thriller movie. Not totally sure if “The Outfit” is a must-watch? It’s rated 92% by viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.

Set in the 1950s, Leonard Burling (Rylance) is a master tailor operating an outfitter in Chicago. Forced into an uneasy alliance with mobster Roy Boyle (Simon Russell Beale), his son Richie (O’Brien), and his best enforcer, Francis (Johnny Flynn), Leonard’s shop acts as a stash for their dirty money and a place to lie low to escape the authorities. However, when the Boyle criminal organization suspects a rat in their fold, Leonard must endure a very long night as he seeks a way out of an increasingly dangerous situation.

‘Ocean's 8’ (2018)
The idea of an all-female “Ocean’s” movie was bouncing around Hollywood for years, and after much speculation, it became a reality in 2018. The final result doesn’t quite meet the heights of the 2000s trilogy, but it mostly thrives on the same blend of comedy and thrills as its male-dominated predecessor. Boasting an all-star cast including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson and more, “Ocean’s 8” is an entertaining crime caper with a very audacious heist at its core.
Freshly paroled Debbie Ocean (Bullock), younger sister of franchise lead Danny Ocean (played by George Clooney in the “Ocean’s" trilogy), might be recently out of prison, but is already planning her next score. Assembling a crack team, the target is a diamond necklace worth $150 million, and to claim it, Debbie and her co-conspirators will need to infiltrate the annual Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Sounds easy, right?
