Whoa! One of my favorite gaming laptops is on sale for $450 off in this early Black Friday sale

Black Friday doesn’t officially kick off for another month, but we’re already seeing vendors across the internet slashing prices. That’s good news if you need a new gaming laptop now and can't wait for the official Black Friday deals to start.
Right now, the HP Omen Max 16 is $1,349 on HP’s website. Thanks to that $450 off discount, you’ll have plenty of money left over to buy some of the best PC games for your new machine. I reviewed a different configuration of this laptop, but you’ll still have an enjoyable experience on this machine. Here’s why the HP Omen Max 16 is worth getting.
This HP Omen Max 16 with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 GPU is now one of the cheapest RTX 50-series gaming laptops I've seen, all thanks to this $450 price cut. It packs an AMD Ryzen 7 AI CPU, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. Throw in its 16-inch (2560 x 1600) display with 165Hz refresh rate, and you're looking at a mid-range gaming laptop that packs a punch.
This HP Omen Max 16 has everything you need for smooth 1080p gaming at medium settings. This includes an AMD Ryzen AI 7 CPU, an Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU and 16GB of RAM. For the best gaming performance, you’ll want to enable DLSS 4 in games that support Nvidia’s frame-boosting technology. Games will run smoother and with sharper image quality.
Regarding visuals, everything will look great on the 16-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS display. I can confirm that you’ll experience bright and colorful images, as this panel is similar to the screen on the unit I tested, as described in my HP Omen Max 16 review. The variable 165Hz refresh rate and low 3ms response time also ensure games run smoothly and with no perceptible input lag (respectively).
While laptops are designed for portability, you'll likely primarily use this notebook at home. Like my review unit, this isn’t a thin or light laptop since it measures 14.04 x 10.59 x 0.9 inches and 6.1 pounds. However, it does pack plenty of ports, including two USB-A ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a pair of USB-C ports, an Ethernet port, and a DisplayPort.
This HP Omen Max 16 is a fantastic mid-range gaming laptop that I can easily recommend to anyone looking for such a machine. HP might not sell this configuration at this price for long, so you might want to act fast before this sale ends.
