The Kindle Colorsoft is my favorite e-reader — and it’s now $90 off for Prime Day
The Kindle Colorsoft currently costs as much as a standard Paperwhite
Amazon Prime Day is the absolute best time to buy one of the company’s popular Kindle devices, and that remains true for the latest sales event. You can’t go wrong with any Kindle, but one particular model is especially enticing.
Right now, the Kindle Colorsoft is just $159 on Amazon. That’s the standard price of the Kindle Paperwhite, or $35 more than that e-reader’s current discounted price. While the latter delivers a clearer image overall, it’s purely a black-and-white e-reader, whereas the Colorsoft’s name tells you what it’s all about.
The Kindle Colorsoft is the best color e-reader, and my preferred device for reading digital books. If you’re a bookworm, you don’t want to miss out on this deal. Here’s why.
Enjoy all your favorite ebooks in full color, thanks to Amazon's Kindle Colorsoft. With $90 off the normal price, and no ads cluttering up the system, it's one of the best ways to enjoy Amazon's ebook library — whether you buy solo titles or subscribe to Kindle Unlimited.
In my Kindle Colorsoft review, I called the company’s first color Kindle a winner and the Kindle I’ve always wanted. One of the best parts is that you don’t just have to read color text, like comic books, to take full advantage of Colorsoft’s display. While the Paperwhite does a better job of displaying black-and-white text thanks to its stronger contrast, the Colorsoft’s monochrome performance remains strong.
Other features include an 8-week battery life, IPX8 water resistance, 16GB of storage, and the aforementioned paper-like display, which delivers a more book-like experience than the glossy, smooth touchscreen displays on tablets and smartphones.
Naturally, since this is an Amazon device, you instantly get full access to the Kindle library. This includes any digital book you’ve bought from the Kindle Store or through the $12 a month Kindle Unlimited subscription. If you devour a lot of books a month, Kindle Unlimited can start paying for itself fast.
I love the various Kindles I use, but the Kindle Colorsoft is the most comfortable to use for everyday reading. If you’re looking to upgrade from a non-color Kindle, this is your chance!
