There are earbuds I like — the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, the WF-1000XM5 — and then there are earbuds that I love. The Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 are one such pair of earbuds, and they've got a place in my heart that's difficult for anything to dislodge.

I love the way they look, I love the way that they sound, and I love the way they fit in my ear and disappear. I've had to search around trying to find them before because I've forgotten I'm wearing them.

Well, now you can also grab a pair of my favorite earbuds with this deal. The Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 are down to $319 at Amazon, thanks to an $80 saving. That's a massive discount on what are otherwise pretty expensive earbuds.

The Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 are the whole package. Monstrous sound, an effortlessly comfortable fit, and solid battery life. The ANC is good too — they might just be the ultimate in-ears, if you can stretch to their slightly higher price.

Comfort for days

The Pi8 aren't as intrusive as other buds. While their silicon eartips make a solid seal as they enter the ear, they don't stick too far in. That means they're far more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. The silicon ring around the outside of the bud makes sure they stay in place, so no amount of headbanging is going to shake them loose.

I've been able to headbang for hours on end with the Pi8 lodged firmly in my ears. They've not come loose once, and I've never wanted to rip them out and throw them away. A lovely, comfortable fit for all-day wear.

Mind-blowing sound

The Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 sound so good. They're slightly warmer than some audiophiles might prefer, but their soundstage is wide, they're incredibly detailed, and they offer some of the best HiFi sound this side of buying a brand new set of speakers and a fancy amplifier.

Whip up some heavy, and the Pi8 are more than happy to provide. Ride cymbals crash with a glorious metallic timbre, guitars chug with a devilish edge. Bass guitars rumble, kick drums hit hard, and growled vocals are clear as they are ferocious. Delicious.

Jazz is detailed and dynamic, drum and bass heart-pumping and energetic. There's not a genre the Pi8 struggle with, and it's all done with the pizazz of a brand that knows what it's doing sonically.

My favorite buds

I've tested plenty of earbuds, and some have come close to the Bowers & Wilkins Pi8. But none have actually managed. Since their release, the Pi8 have been my go-to in-ear companions for any kind of listening that doesn't require me to get on a train. I love the buds, and with $80 off, I think you will too.
