Does Plaud require a subscription?
Not really. Every PLAUD note-taker comes with a free Starter Plan out of the box. This free tier gives you 300 minutes of AI transcription and summarisation every single month. For casual users who only record a few brief meetings or lectures, this is often more than enough.
However, if you record heavily, you will eventually hit that 300-minute ceiling. At that point, you have three options
Buy Add-Ons: If you only occasionally go over your limit, you can buy minute bundles that do not expire for two years.
Upgrade to a Paid Plan: If you often exceed the free minutes, PLAUD offers an annual Pro Plan, which grants 1,200 minutes per month, or an Unlimited Plan.
Does PLAUD UK offer free shipping?
Yes! If you order directly from the official PLAUD.ai website, you get free standard delivery on all orders, which takes 2 to 4 working days.
Is Plaud GDPR compliant?
Yes in July 2025, PLAUD.ai officially achieved full compliance with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation which also covers UK data privacy standards.
PLAUD is also certified under ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, and HIPAA which means it is one of the most secure AI note-takers on the market.
What is the PLAUD return policy?
PLAUD has a 30-day no-reason return policy. For example, if you get your PLAUD Note Pro and decide it isn't the right fit for your workflow, you have 30 days from the date of receipt to request a full refund.
Your return must be in its original, new condition and include all original packaging, manuals, and accessories. Luckily, PLAUD covers the return delivery.
Does PLAUD offer warranty?
Yes, all PLAUD note-takers come with a standard warranty, regardless of which model you choose. They all include a 12-month limited warranty from the date of purchase and covers any tech failures or manufacturing defects that happen under normal use.

Student & Teacher Discount: If you are currently studying or working in education, you do not need to pay full price for a PLAUD device. Bundles: While the free Starter Plan (300 minutes per month) is great for casual users, heavy users will need more transcription time. If you know you will be recording constantly, do not wait to upgrade your subscription later. By purchasing a plan bundle directly on the PLAUD website such as bundling the Note Pro with the AI Annual Pro Plan or the Annual Unlimited Plan, you save between 3% and 16% on the total cost compared to buying the hardware and the software separately.
Refer a Friend: If you know someone who already has a PLAUD device, ask them to send you their referral link. PLAUD's referral program generates a unique link for existing users in their companion app. When you click that link to make your first purchase, you automatically receive a 10% discount applied to your basket at checkout.
Buy in bulk: If you are trying to outfit your entire startup or sales team, don't buy the devices individually. PLAUD offers heavily incentivised multi-packs directly on their product pages. Currently, buying a 3-pack of the Note Pro automatically takes 3% off the total, while opting for a 6-pack increases the discount to 6% off. How to use a Plaud Discount Code

- Head over to the PLAUD website and choose your preferred device.

How we test voucher codes
Every voucher code on Tom’s Guide has been tested by our offers team, based in Cardiff, to make sure they work before we upload them. The codes on Tom’s Guide can be used for a wide range of savings, covering student discounts, free shipping deals, and site-wide or product-specific savings.
We want to make sure every voucher is ready to use whenever someone visits one of our pages, so we don’t include any user-specific or one-time use codes. What to do if a voucher code doesn’t work
Although we work hard to only include tried and tested vouchers on our pages, sometimes codes can expire or terms and conditions can be changed before we have a chance to update the code or our pages. If your discount isn’t being applied at the checkout, there are a number of things you can do.
First, check you meet any listed requirements such as multibuy offers, minimum spends, or product-specific deals. For example, you may need to buy 3 items to receive your discount, or your code may only be applicable to orders with certain models (i.e. 10% off specific smartphones). If you need to review the details of your chosen deal, click the text that reads “View terms and conditions” below the main text.

How we make money
Tom’s Guide makes money from vouchers on a commission basis. We have agreements with every retailer that has a vouchers page for, and for every order placed using one of our codes, we earn a portion of the order total back in commission from that retailer.
Using this model means all of our profits are paid for by the retailers we partner with, and we do not pass any costs on to our users.
