Guy Jailbreaks Apple's iPhone 4 in Apple Store
The new iPhone jailbreak. It just works.
Comex et al., the hackers behind the latest iOS jailbreak hack, have made it exceptionally easy to get your iPhone or iPad just the way you like it. All you have to do is visit a simple website, http://jailbreakme.com/ and slide away.
In fact, since no PC or Mac is required for this jailbreak, one might be able to do it anywhere there is a data connection… like in an Apple Store… using one of the iPhone 4 display models.

hahaha that is awesome! Imagine walking into a car dealership and hotwiring a car.
Nice!! Now Apple might find a way to block those websites!
That iPhone is out of warranty too!
And it's totally legal!!
You could have fit "Nice!! Now Apple might find a way to block those websites! That iPhone is out of warranty too! That iPhone is out of warranty too!" Into one comment ya know.
@insider3
no need to be so grumpy.
@everyone
i wanted to do that. i guess i wasnt the only one with the idea!
Like it was ever "illegal".
Tom's articles are getting very tiresome...used to be a day you came here at received articles worth reading. How is this article giving us "new and innovative" information? I can get news like this from Yahoo's homepage.
Somebody is going to use that Iphone, and be dissapointed when they realize that their iphone isn't exactly as awesome as the one they used in the store...
WIN! hahahahahaha

Then leave? or don't click the link?
I totally came up with that guys idea first. Look at the comments for the original iphone jailbreak article.
More power to him! He should have went up to a representative and asked for a high five.
That guy must have done that before the site that is hosting the jailbreak went all FUBAR. I have been trying since yesterday night and I still cannot get the damn jailbreak to work. Resetting every setting, deleting all apps, and going so far as to totally recover the device has not gotten this jailbreak to work for me.
I am going to keep trying, but this has not been the best executed idea.

time on his phone, 1:55 PM, your comment, 10:58 PM. nope, you were not first.

Yeah, and don't post anything in the comments unless it completely supports Toms Hardware.

Actually i was because toms is many hours difference in time zones.
the original idea came from a guy that comex retweeted... and I wish i could have done it first.. i can go 30 to 45 minutes in any direction and find 5 apples stores here in the DFW.. oh well i can still do it anyways just to piss STEVE-0 off.. He tweeted about this
Ouch. Suck it, Apple!
" That iPhone is out of warranty too! "
Apples Warrenty's isn't worth a wooden nickel anyway........
It really isn't.. but if you talk to a cool genius.. ive had several iphones replaced for free.. even thou the problems were my own fault hehe
lol, imagine the RMA department now: "theres something wrong with my iphone! it doesn't do half of the awesome things that the instore model does!"
You go girl +1

their site really was overloaded though. i finally got on around 3am or so last night and jailbroke my iphone 4. thousands upon thousands of users+ per hour, plus tons of page refreshes for each user per hour... modmyi also has a link up too for this since theyre also hosting it, might work better there if jailbreakme is still swamped.
but, changing settings isnt necessary. again, theyre just overburdoned is all.
Lol! Fitting reply to Steve's crap about warranty loss.
it looks to me like he took his iphone and then took a picture over an empty display. Those devices are normally connected to security of some sort.
Jailbreakme.com is up and working, I just did my ipod touch 2g this morning and no brick!
Took me about 5 mins and downloading different apps and changing things on the phone.
I was able to get through last night. This was the best and easiest jailbreak ever. I just emailed it to all my co-workers. I want to do every iPhone in a store, then play dumb and ask a sales rep what this "Cydia" icon is for. God I'd love to catch the reaction on video.
Who is this guy mentioned in the title? The article only mentions that one MIGHT be able jailbreak in an apple store. Does anyone else think Tom's headlines are becoming increasingly misleading?
Steve Jobs: "You're jailbreaking it wrong..."
