Want to become a terrorist? Why not get acquainted with the controversial career by playing the latest Facebook social game, Al Qaeda Wars. Developed by Rage on Gaming, the game allows players to not only take on the role of terrorists, but counter terrorists as well. To make things feel more realistic, the game incorporates Google Maps to zero in on actual targets throughout the world. The company even warns that the game isn't suitable for anyone because of its use of dramatic violence.
According to the company, players can complete missions, build a global network and participate in special Jihads. Players are thrown into situations in which they have to use their friends and fellow players to attack each other. Various weapons are available for purchase including sniper rifles, dirty bombs, stinger missiles and more.
"Players can launch different types of Google map attacks against other players that include truck bombs and suicide bombers," the company said. "These attacks are games of skill based on actual player locations set on Google maps. Successful attacks result in a realistic flash animated destruction of the target."
Jihads will depict the total destruction--or the ultimate rescue--of real-word landmarks including Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, and the Statue of Liberty. Players choosing to take on Jihad missions will target specific individuals including New York real estate developer Ronal Frump, the Al Qaeda puppet Pest Hilton because she helped undermine the social fabric of the Western World, and even Simon Scowl for "acting as a secret terrorist."

If we sent two US Navy ships out there, they could level the entire country with bombs if they had to. There would be no war. Hopefully their people realize that we are trying to sort out the good from the bad.

That's the scary part to me, nothing. It may be far fetched but real terrorists could probably devise plans and "practice" them for max effectiveness. I could be wrong as I have not see how in-depth the game is, but it sounds like a terrorist training tool to me.

Hardly! There is a gigantic difference between fighting a war between two nations and independently plotting an attack on a major landmark in the context of terrorism. I would hope that most people understand this distinction.

They are terrorists because they use terror. The minute you aren't afraid of terror is the second they're diffused and believe it or not they actually stop trying to be so overtly scary and menacing. Then once they've lost their influence it gives security and military forces a lot more ability to track the fuckers down PROPERLY and eliminate them.
I would have to doubt how many real terrorist use this because I am sure that the FBI or CIA already knows about it and has looked at it. If there is anything going on there they would be tracking it and the folks using it.
Well, I know this sounds conspiratorial, but considering the Mombai India attacks, this seems like a terrorism simulator... Terrorists used flight sims after having some real training, why make it easy by creating such an app. I hope that the users of this app are heavily monitored by the FBI, CIA, NSA, CSIS, MI6... and any other intelligence agency around the world.

It is not stupid, it is the truth. We use a lot of diplomacy and that is the only reason why we send troops onto land rather than being blatantly destructive of human life.

I'm not from the USA but I have to say that 9/11 was hardly just a propaganda incident. And yes, conventional terrorism is really just a vicious mind game, but I think what happened in New York in 2001 can and will happen again, somewhere in the civilized World (that is, other than that middle-east) sooner or later. So better to be cautious than not.
