Forget Ring — these security cameras don't require a subscription and are on sale for Prime Day, starting at just $17
Ditch subscription fees and keep your home secure
Some of the most popular Prime Day deals are smart home devices, such as security cameras, video doorbells, and smart speakers. But while you'll often see deep discounts on a lot of these gadgets — upwards of 40% off — many come with a hidden fee: subscriptions.
You see, these companies realized that they can create a recurring revenue stream by charging you a monthly fee for something as simple as being able to record and save video from your security cameras.
Don't be lured into these cheap deals, only to realize later that it wasn't the bargain it seemed. To help you, I've put together a list of deals on the best security cameras and video doorbells from companies that don't charge a subscription. That way, your mind — and your wallet — can rest easy.

It has a 2K resolution and comes with several useful features like color night vision, person detection and an easy-to-use companion app. In order to go subscription-free, you will need to purchase the Blink Sync Module 2 ($49, sold separately) as well as a USB stick, but your all-in cost is still under $100.

This camera boasts a 4K resolution , and its body can rotate a full 360 degrees, so it can follow the action around your yard. It has color night vision, free person and vehicle detection, and uses local AI — which means faster and more secure responses. It does need to be plugged in to work, though.

Two cameras are better than one. This dual-cam setup has one fixed camera and one that can pan and swivel, so if it's tracking someone, you still don't lose sight of the rest of your room. It has a 2K resolution and is IP65 rated, so you can use it indoors or outside. Both cameras have a small spotlight, and they have a 98dB alarm to scare off would-be intruders.

This video doorbell has two cameras, one of which is pointed at the foot of your door, to make it much easier to see when someone has left a package for you. The cameras deliver 2K resolution and full color night video, and the removable battery pack will last up to 6 months on a charge.

Eufy's video doorbell also has two 2K cameras to better spot packages. It has 8GB of built-in storage and can be paired with a local Homebase hub so you can save even more video. It has a quick-release battery, but can also be hardwired, so you have a backup in case the power goes out. This video doorbell is a little old — we reviewed it in 2022 — but it's still just as good now as it was then.
