Not a typo — this LG OLED TV just crashed to its Black Friday price of $599

When it comes to OLED TV deals, Black Friday and Cyber Monday get all of the attention. But there's a window of time in early spring where many of the most popular TVs go back on sale as brands gear up to launch their latest sets. Look no further than the LG B5 OLED.

Right now, you can get the 48-inch LG B5 for just $599 at Best Buy, which is the same low price it hit during Best Buy's Black Friday sale. While the B5 isn't as bright or colorful as pricier, higher-end OLED TVs, it still delivers a sensational, OLED-driven picture. Its 48-inch screen makes it an especially good choice for people with smaller living spaces. At this price point, I'd rather have an entry-level OLED than a mid-range LED TV. Here's why.

Looking for an incredible OLED picture without the high price? The LG B5 is the perfect pick. It's not as bright as higher-end OLED TVs, but you still get to bask in the glory of OLED display technology. Dedicated gamers will appreciate the B5's array of sought-after features, which includes four HDMI 2.1 inputs, support for 4K gaming at 120Hz, VRR and FreeSync.

While it's not as impressive-looking as the all-new LG C6 and the flagship-level LG G5, the B5 is nevertheless an OLED TV, which means it still comes with all of the built-in perks we've come to expect from this premium display technology.

As with all OLED displays, each of the LG B5's millions of pixels is self-lit. This means that the picture doesn't exhibit the distracting, blue-tinted light bloom that you'll often see on traditional LED TVs. The self-emissive nature of OLED is also why the B5 delivers better perceivable contrast than most LED TVs that are measurably brighter.

It comes with many of the same bells and whistles you'll find on higher-end LG OLEDs.

The B5 doesn't skimp on features, either. It comes with many of the same bells and whistles you'll find on higher-end LG OLEDs, including LG's webOS smart platform, Dolby Vision support and an array of useful gaming features.

In fact, the 48-inch B5 is an especially good pick for gamers on a budget. It's equipped with a similar set of gaming features as LG's more-advanced OLED TVs. It supports 4K gaming at 120Hz, which is the top 4K spec for the latest consoles. Right out of the box, it also comes with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), AMD FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility.

If you're in the market for a bigger screen than 48 inches, the 55-inch LG B5 is on sale for $899 at Best Buy . It's not as steep of a discount as what you'll get on the 48-inch variant, but it's still $600 off the original price.
