Samsung's latest smart home product is a $1,000 AI-powered water purifier

Samsung is dedicated to creating a smart home offering, and it's certainly staying ahead of the curve.

You'll notice the trend rippling through its latest products, integrating AI and Bixby voice control into its extensive home appliance range from smart fridges to smart washing machines, like the Samsung Bespoke Smart Front Load Washer.

About the Bespoke AI Water Purifier

The company's newest pioneering creation can reportedly filter out 82 different types of harmful substances from water, which, in comparison to its South Korean rivals, is more than any other on the market.

How? Well, it uses a four-stage filtration system equipped with a stainless steel direct water pipe that's corrosion-resistant.

Every three days, the purifier also uses electrolysis to make sure the water pipes are sterilized. And, via the Samsung SmartThings app, you'll get an alert when the filter needs to be replaced.

The app and integrated Bixby voice commands will also allow you to adjust water output and temperature. Want 16 fl oz. of purified water to fill up your water bottle? No problem.

Samsung's love of integrating AI is a bold shift towards its vision for homes of the future, and the Bespoke AI Water Purifier Countertop is the niche idea I didn't know I needed. If I had a spare $1,000 to spend, that is.

For now, the price point isn't competitive compared to other filtration systems on the market. But, if you're dedicated to AI as strongly as Samsung is, it may be worth the investment.

Is this the next big thing?

Buying a smart water purifier might not seem like a priority right now, especially when it'll cost you $1,000, but the concept behind it is certainly becoming increasingly more popular.

Chinese tech company Xiaomi recently released two smart water purifiers exclusively in China, equivalently priced at around $300 / $555. And there are countertop options that you can get in the US, like the Ecozy, the world's first smart ice and water dispenser, available for $599.99.

Whether Samsung's newest water purifier is worth your money, it's all speculation right now since we don't know if there's a US launch imminent or not.
