When is ‘Wicked: For Good’ streaming — here’s our best guess

Theaters nationwide are decked out in green and pink, which can only mean one thing: “Wicked: For Good” has arrived on the big screen. The second act of the blockbuster feature adaptation of the Broadway phenomenon sees Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande return as Elphaba and Glinda, and has already grossed more than $225m at the box office in its first weekend.

While “Wicked: For Good” is a certified event movie with enough pull to get viewers willing to fork over for increasingly pricy cinema tickets (and let’s not forget the cost of popcorn, either), its predecessor was a monster hit on streaming, and this celebrated sequel will no doubt enjoy a similar fate. So, now the question is, when is “Wicked: For Good” coming to streaming?

As of now, there is no confirmed “Wicked: For Good” streaming date, but looking at “Wicked’s” (yellow brick) road from theaters to streaming platforms gives us a roadmap to follow. Pick up your broomstick, and let’s fly into the world of (logical) speculation to figure out when you might be able to watch “Wicked: For Good” from the comfort of your couch.

For now, the only place you can enjoy the emotional conclusion of Elphaba and Glinda’s tragic tale is at your local movie theater. As of November 2025, “Wicked: For Good” is playing only in cinemas. And with plenty of box office dollars to be made (“Wicked” grossed $759m), it’ll stay that way for a while.

The blockbuster musical sequel comes from Universal Pictures, so we can examine the timeline of both the first “Wicked” movie and how Universal typically handles streaming releases to give us a reasonable indication when “Wicked: For Good” could be available to watch at home.

Universal usually drops its new movies on premium streaming platforms (known as a PVOD release) such as Amazon and Apple roughly three to six weeks after they hit theatres. “Wicked: For Good” will no doubt be closer to the latter than the former. Its predecessor arrived in theaters on November 22, 2024, and was made available on streaming from December 31, 2024.

Expect “Wicked: For Good” to arrive on streaming in late 2025 or early 2026. A streaming release on New Year’s Eve seems like another solid bet, as “Wicked: For Good” looks to capture the stay-at-home crowd who prefer watching a movie over venturing out in the cold to a fireworks display.

After its PVOD run, “Wicked: For Good” will almost certainly make its home on Universal’s streaming service Peacock. “Wicked” arrived on Peacock on March 21, 2025, almost four months after its PVOD debut. This is largely standard for Universal movies. I expect “Wicked: For Good” to follow a similar pattern. “Wicked: For Good” could land on Peacock in March 2026.

Remember, these are currently estimates. Until we hear official word from Universal, these streaming release windows are not confirmed. However, “Wicked” was hugely successful both in theaters and on streaming, so Universal will be looking to recapture the same magic. For now, though, if you want to return to the Land of Oz, you’ll need to visit a movie theater.
