Prime Video’s top 10 is always in flux, with new releases battling for attention while long-running hits like “Gen V” and “The Summer I Turned Pretty” maintain their grip near the top. While it’s a useful guide for your next binge, not every trending show is worth the watch.

To make things easier, we’ve sifted through the noise to highlight three series that really stand out, focusing on recent arrivals in the top 10 and the ones I’m planning to stream this weekend.

This week’s picks include a new action-drama with Jesse Williams, the prequel to “The Terminal List,” and an action-thriller that has once again appeared in the streamer’s trending charts.

This list is based on the Prime Video top 10 U.S shows as of Friday, October 10, 2025.

Best shows in the Prime Video top 10

‘Hotel Costiera’

As the temperatures drop, “Hotel Costiera” offers a warm escape. The kind of breezy, sun-soaked series that pairs perfectly with a drink in hand and a lazy afternoon. It’s the TV equivalent of a beach read: light, entertaining, and easy to sink into.

The setup isn’t anything new — a man is recruited by a group to assemble a team for a specific job, only for secrets and strange coincidences to surface along the way. But the familiar formula works here, thanks to the show’s playful mystery and stylish execution.

“Hotel Costiera” centers on Daniel De Luca (Jesse Williams), a half-Italian ex–U.S. Marine who returns to his picturesque hometown of Positano, Italy. Taking a job as the resident “fixer” at the upscale Hotel Costiera, Daniel caters to the whims and troubles of its elite guests. But when the hotel owner’s daughter, Alice, goes missing, his job takes a darker turn. Balancing the demands of the wealthy with the secrets simmering beneath the surface, Daniel sets out to uncover what really happened to her before it’s too late.

‘The Terminal List: Dark Wolf’

Watch On

“The Terminal List: Dark Wolf” serves as a prequel to Prime Video’s hit series “The Terminal List” starring Chris Pratt. This chapter rewinds several years to follow Navy SEAL Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) as he shifts from a disciplined soldier to a shadowy CIA paramilitary operative.

Training and fighting alongside his future ally James Reece (Pratt), Edwards becomes entangled in covert missions that test his loyalty and push him into moral gray zones. The series kicks off with a tense operation targeting ISIS fighters, where Edwards and his SEAL partner Raife Hastings (Tom Hopper) are soon tapped by a cunning CIA handler for off-the-books assignments.

Now that the full season has wrapped, “Dark Wolf” makes for an ideal binge-watch as all episodes are available to stream, letting viewers watch Ben’s story unfold without the weekly wait.

‘Countdown’

Watch On

Despite earning a modest 35% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, “Countdown” keeps popping up in Prime Video’s top 10 list since its release. Critics may not be impressed, but audiences are tuning in anyway, with some highlighting its “thrilling stunts and high-octane action” as reasons to watch.

Set in Los Angeles, the series centers on LAPD Detective Mark Meachum (Jensen Ackles), a former Army Ranger notorious for pushing boundaries. When a Department of Homeland Security agent turns up dead, Meachum is drawn into a secret multi-agency task force investigating a massive conspiracy that could endanger millions.

The ensemble includes Jessica Camacho as Amber Oliveras, a fearless DEA undercover operative, and Eric Dane as the veteran FBI agent heading the operation. There’s been no word yet on a potential season 2, but given the show’s staying power in Prime Video’s top 10, fans are hopeful it might earn a renewal.
