If you're planning a Prime Video movie night at some point this week, and you're looking to the Prime Video top 10 list for recommendations, there's a handful of solid watches in the mix — but there's also duds like "Mercy" on offer, too.

That's the way it goes with all the best streaming services; a movie can be popular and still not be the best thing available on the platform. That's precisely why I keep such a close eye on the Prime Video top 10 movies list.

'Pretty Lethal' (2026)

"Pretty Lethal" might not be the highest-rated movie in Prime Video's charts, but if you're after a shot of adrenaline, the streamer's latest original movie might just be the watch for you.

This action-thriller sees a dysfunctional dance troupe (played by Iris Apatow, Lana Condor, Millicent Simmonds, Avantika, and Maddie Ziegler) fighting for their lives. En route to a prestigious dance competition, their bus breaks down, and they're forced to take shelter in a shady inn run by a former dance prodigy, Devora Kasimer (Uma Thurman). When that situation turns deadly, the dancers have to weaponize their training in order to make it out alive.

'Roofman' (2025)

I recommended "Roofman" as soon as it came to Prime Video, and I'm going to continue to shout about it because I don't think Derek Cianfrance's stranger-than-fiction crime comedy-drama quite got the attention it deserved.

The film follows Jeffrey Manchester (Channing Tatum), a down-on-his-luck father and veteran who turns to robbing local fast food restaurants to make ends meet. He does end up behind bars, but after mounting his escape, he decides to hide out in a nearby Toys "R" Us store while he plans his next movie... though when he falls for a single mom (Kirsten Dunst) who works at the store, things get a whole lot more complicated. It's worth seeing for Tatum and Dunst's chemistry alone.

'Weapons' (2025)

Readers who know my reputation as Tom's Guide's resident scaredy cat might be surprised to see me recommending "Weapons," but when I forced myself to stream Zach Cregger's latest horror effort over on our newly-launched TikTok channel right before the Oscars, I was surprised by just how much fun I had watching it (y'know, aside from the times where it creeped me out.)

This engrossing (and surprisingly funny) horror/thriller whisks us away to a Pennsylvanian town wherein all but one child from Justine Gandy's (Julia Garner) third-grade classroom mysteriously disappeared from their bedrooms at the same time in the middle of the night. The movie tells several interlocking stories from across that community, all affected one way or another by the strange goings-on around town.

If it’s in the theaters or available to stream somewhere, he’s probably watched it… especially if it has a dragon in it. Before joining the team, he was a Staff Writer at What To Watch where he wrote about a broad range of shows that stretched from "Doctor Who" and "The Witcher" to "Bridgerton" and "Love Island". When he’s not watching the next must-see movie or show, he’s probably still in front of a screen playing massive RPGs, reading, spending a fortune on TCGs, or watching the NFL.
