Wired is back — 9 incredible Black Friday wired headphone deals up 40% off right now
I love wired headphones. I like them more than wireless headphones, generally, thanks to their more flexible sound and improved resolution. They're also lighter; they never run out of battery; and they tend to be cheaper... I could go on.
Right now you can find some excellent deals on wired headphones. If you're looking for something inexpensive, you can pick up the Philips SHP9500 for $79 at Amazon. Or, if you want something that's going to make you tear up when you get Magic Carpet Ride spinning, you should get the Sennheiser HD 600 for $309 at Amazon. That's $190 off! This pair of wireless HD headphones won't break the bank but offer solid audio quality for the price. They're a very light and comfortable pair of headphones, and feature a detailed sound signature, allowing you to dive deep into your music. The 1.5 meter cable will give you plenty of room, too.

The HiFiMan Sundara are a stunning pair of over-ear headphones. They bring one of the most impressively wide soundstages for a relatively low price, and their lightness makes sure you can wear them for long periods of time without getting tired. They won't need any extra equipment to sound their best either — just plug them into your laptop.

The beige wonder — the HD 599 are a wicked pair of open-ear headphones with a very expansive soundstage. They're super detailed as well, and while they're not the bassiest of headphones, the low-end they pump out is very well controlled. I like these headphones for playing open-world video games as much as listening to music. These headphones don't need much to drive — you can plug them into just about anything and they'll sound great.

These are a more focused version of the 599 above. Sennheiser heard that some listeners wanted more bass out of their open-backed headphones, and so made the SE model — very wide-sounding headphones with a stronger bass impact. Detail has taken a slight hit, however. Still, they'll also run off just about anything you plug them into.

The 560 S are the perfect pair of headphones for those who want the "Goldilocks" experience. They're good at just about everything — plenty of detail, excellent soundstage and punchy bass. That does mean they don't excel at any one thing, however. This pair of headphones also doesn't need any extra power to run; just plug them into your phone.

These are the cream of the crop of the HD 5- line. They've got gold accents, so you know you've got the best as well. Comfortable and extremely open, the HD 505 are some of the best-sounding headphones under $400 — and, just like the rest of their line-mates, they can be run off anything with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

These closed-back headphones are designed for both making and listening to music. They're more bassy than other Beyerdynamic models, thanks to those closed-back earcups. They're a very comfortable pair of headphones to boot. You'll want something with some extra drive to run them — a MacBook, or a separate amp and DAC.

The HD 600 need little introduction. They're renowned by audiophiles everywhere, thanks to their immaculately detailed sound and extremely wide soundstage. Add in their comfortable fit and replaceable cable and you've got some of the best headphones that money can buy. You will need an extra amp for any device you plug these into, mind you — they're very thirsty. Consider another $100-200 to buy one of those when you add these to your Amazon cart.

They're the bassier, warmer cousin of the HD 650. Some will appreciate their more approachable sound than the HD 600, but detail has been sacrificed for more low-end. They're still very open, mind you. Much like the 600, you'll need an amplifier to get them to sound their very best, so you should budget for an extra $100-200.
