The AirPods Max recieved their USB-C update earlier this year, and with it a return to their full price. Since then, we've seen some solid deals — but this latest Black Friday saving makes them a whole lot more tempting.
You can grab the AirPods Max for $399 from Amazon. That's their lowest price ever after a $150 discount. If I didn't already have a Blue pair, I'd seriously consider adding them to my shopping cart. Although that Pink option seems mighty tempting...
The AirPods Max and their metal build and stunning sound are a sight to behold (and wear). They've got great ANC and loads of features for Apple users. 20 hours of battery life is better elsewhere, but they're still a great pair of headphones. This is the lowest price we've seen on the USB-C variant.
Let's get the low points out of the way first. 20 hours of battery life is underwhelming. The carrying case is not very good. But those bad points are so incredibly easy to overlook when the rest of the package is so delightful.
The AirPods Max are made with some of the nicest materials I've seen used in a pair of wireless headphones. Their metal earcups are weighty and feel expensive, and the headband is soft and comfortable. The metal extending hinges are a headphone engineering marvel.
The sound is excellent, with great detail and a wide soundstage. Plug them into a compatible source with a USB-C cable and you'll benefit from hi-res streaming — a nice bonus for audiophiles.
Their ANC is still up there with the best noise canceling headphones, blocking out the sound of trains, planes and offices without breaking a sweat. And now that they're a whole lot less expensive, you can enjoy all these features without breaking the bank.
Well, relatively. They're still expensive. Just less expensive.
