3. Connecting The Phones To The PC

To make use of the 5.1 capabilities of the Zalman you will, of course, need a PC with a sound card or a sound system capable of decoding and playing multi-channel sound. Although Zalman does not adhere to the standard color-coding for audio connections (green, blue and pink), the headphones are easy to connect up. Each 3.5 mm jack is labeled with a letter (F=Front, R=Rear, C=Center) to identify where it should be connected on the computer (see diagram below).

Once you have plugged your headphones in, you need to set Windows up for multi-channel sound. To do this, select Sounds and Audio Devices from the Control Panel, then click the Advanced tab under Speaker Settings. Choose 5.1 Surround Speakers from the pull down menu and confirm your selection. You should also set your software DVD player up for 5.1 sound.
