5. Icybox IB-350UE-BL: Cool Design With Blue Lighting Effects
With this enclosure there's no danger of a heat build-up - the side panels look more like a wire fence. Behind the mesh are several LEDs which flash in sync when data is transferred. The larger the data packet the longer the blue LEDs stay lit. These lighting effects are somehow comforting and always something to look at. In fact, they make copying positively fun. The stand allows the external drive to sit on its end too. Although at 440 g (0.97 lbs) the box is no lightweight, it is still acceptable for mobile use. The price tag of about $45 is also a joy to behold, and includes both USB 2.0 and IEEE1394a support.
