If you're planning to buy several external enclosures, you might want to consider the Rocketpod from Sharkoon. Several of these boxes can be stacked on top of each other and addressed via dedicated interfaces. As only one device is connected to the computer for data transfer no extra USB cables and power supplies are needed. In this way, a maximum of five Rocketpod enclosures can be joined, whereby each drive both works and can be addressed separately. We did not think much of the IDE hard drive assembly. The internal cabling made the enclosure difficult to open. Only when the enclosure was removed from the pin header connection were we able to fully open the two covers. The assembled hard drive makes it even more tricky to close the two halves. Very dainty fingers are called for in this enclosure. The four screws, which can only be removed with the enclosed hex key, are equally fiddly.
