Notebook Shipments Grew 33% in 2007
Around 109 million notebook PCs shipped worldwide in 2007, a growth of 33% compared to 2006, while shipments of desktops reached 151 million units, a growth of 4% on year, according to a recent IDC report. Hewlett-Packard (HP) took the lead among notebook vendors with worldwide shipments of 23.3 million units in 2007, while Acer shipped 15.42 million units and Dell shipped 15.29 million units for second and third place, respectively.
