To create a real-world scenario, we filled the notebook's hard drive (IBM Travelstar 40GN model IC 25N020ATCS04-0) "to the brim" before cloning it. The target drive was an IBM Travelstar 40GNX (model IC 25N020ATCS05-0). While both drives share the same nominal capacity of 20 GB, the target drive is faster since its platters spin at a higher speed (5400 rpm vs. 4200 rpm). The partitions that were to be copied was 18.6 GB (actual size).
