Wireless LAN

This includes General Setup, Security, Access Control, Wireless Distribution System (WDS), AP Discovery, Station List and Rate Control sub-categories. General Setup covers basic wireless options (802.11n-only or mixed mode 802.11n/g/b operation), SSID naming and broadcasting, LAN member isolation, plus channel settings and transmit bursting options.

The General Setup page for Wireless LANs.

The Security entry covers both Wireless Protected Access (WPA) and Wired Equivalent Privacy (WPA) 802.11 security settings. Access Control maintains indexed lists of MAC-based access properties and WDS provides parameters to govern wireless behavior as an AP (access point) bridge or repeater, if another router handles routing. AP Discovery lets you discover nearby APs to be added to WDS settings; Station List identifies various radio connections with status indicators; and Rate Control enables control over upload and download rates.

System Maintenance

System Status is a non-interactive display for system properties and operations parameters for the Vigor 2370n. Click the Administrator Password item here to reset that password. Click Configuration Backup to create or restore a complete image of the 2930n’s settings and configuration. SysLog / Mail Alert settings open a dialog with features for system logging and report emailing. Time and Date let you specify the current time and select an NTP address, and Management offers quick access to allowed router services. The Reboot System lets you restart the device using current or factory settings, and the Firmware Upgrade entry lets you initiate a Web-based firmware upgrade or use TFTP to upgrade from the LAN.

Diagnostics

The Diagnostics heading offers Dial-out Trigger, Routing Table, ARP Cache Table, DHCP Table, NAT Sessions Table, Data Flow Monitor, Traffic Graph, Ping Diagnosis and Traceroute options. This is an index into all the diagnostic router tools you might need from a single, well-designed interface.

the Vigor 2820 achieves only half of the 2930's throughput - I think this should be stressed in the final comment!!!
