Go big or go home — I found the 9 best 85-inch TV deals ahead of the Super Bowl

The popularity of big-screen TVs is skyrocketing among cinephiles, home theater enthusiasts and dedicated sports fans. They’re ideal for parties and group viewings, so they pair exceptionally well with the biggest sporting event of the year.

I’ve been both a football-watcher and professional TV-reviewer for over a decade. I also oversee our round-up of the best 85-inch TVs, which means I’m well equipped to help you navigate the world of extra-large screens.

It’s an annual tradition of mine to gather all of the best 83- and 85-inch TV deals ahead of the Super Bowl. Everything is accounted for — from budget-friendly LED TVs to eye-popping 83-inch OLEDs. My favorite deal is also the most affordable: The 85-inch TCL QM5K is just $899 at Best Buy this week, and thanks to its Mini-LED backlighting, it's this year's MVP.

My name is Michael, and I've been testing and reviewing TVs since 2014. Right now is one of the best times of the year to shop for a TV (and not just because the Super Bowl is right around the corner). Many of the newest 83- and 85-inch TVs are heavily discounted, as brands like LG, Hisense, Samsung and TCL are gearing up to launch their 2026 models in the spring. In other words, you don't need to feel guilty upgrading your TV ahead of football's biggest game.

Top 83- and 85-inch TV deals

TCL 85" QM5K Mini-LED TV
TCL 85" QM5K Mini-LED TV: was $1,399 now $899 at Best Buy

This Best Buy-exclusive TV is one of the most affordable ways to lock down Mini-LED backlighting, which is a great feature to have no matter what, but especially nice at the 85-inch size point. These tiny LEDs enhance contrast and typically allow for better brightness. This 85-inch budget TV also comes with Google TV, one of our favorite smart platforms.

Hisense 85" U65QF 4K Mini-LED TV
Save $1,000
Hisense 85" U65QF 4K Mini-LED TV: was $1,999 now $999 at Best Buy

Like the TCL QM5K, the Hisense U65QF is one of the most affordable ways to land a Mini-LED TV ahead of the Super Bowl. It's also one of the brightest TVs in its class, so I recommend it for folks who watch a ton of daytime sports outside just the NFL season. The U65QF also arrives with a handful of extra features, including Amazon's Fire TV streaming platform. (It's probably worth shelling out the extra $100 for the U65QF over the QM5K if your living space is particularly sunny.)

Samsung 85" Q7F 4K LED TV
Samsung 85" Q7F 4K LED TV: was $1,397 now $1,099 at Amazon

The 85-inch Q7F doesn't offer Mini-LED backlighting (and therefore isn't as punchy as the TCL QM7K or Hisense U65QF), but for folks in the market for a relatively affordable, Samsung-branded 85-inch TV in time for the Super Bowl, this is the set I'd recommend right now. It's design is relatively slim and it holds up well in average- or dimly-lit rooms.

TCL 85" QM7K Mini-LED TV
TCL 85" QM7K Mini-LED TV: was $1,999 now $1,697 at Amazon

TCL's mid-range Mini-LED TV is one of the best values of the year for folks looking for a bright, impressive-looking 85-inch TV at a relatively low price point. It's not quite as bright, colorful and packed with features as a higher-end Mini-LED TV on this list, but it's much more versatile than an entry-level model like the aforementioned QM5K. It's brighter than the U65QF, too, which makes it an even better pick for sports fans with sun-soaked living spaces.

Hisense 85" U8QG 4K Mini-LED TV
Hisense 85" U8QG 4K Mini-LED TV: was $2,297 now $1,697 at Amazon

If you're looking for the brightest TV on this list, check out the 85-inch Hisense U8QG. It was already one of the most value-forward Mini-LED TVs of 2025 before this big-time discount, and given the sheer brightness of its picture, the U8QG is one of the best picks for sports fans, gamers and anyone who spends an above-average time watching their TV during the day. Based on reader response over the last several months, the U8QG seems to be a real crowd-pleaser among the sports-watching crowd.

Samsung 83" S85F 4K OLED TV
Samsung 83" S85F 4K OLED TV: was $4,499 now $2,299 at Best Buy

Samsung's most affordable OLED TV of 2025 may not be as much of a showstopper as the brand's flagship TV, but it's still super affordable for an 83-inch OLED TV. It's a great choice for budget-conscious shoppers looking for a Samsung OLED at this extra-large size point.

Samsung 85" QN90F 4K Mini-LED TV
Save $2,200
Samsung 85" QN90F 4K Mini-LED TV: was $4,499 now $2,299 at Best Buy

Samsung's latest flagship Neo QLED, the QN90F, is one of the best Mini-LED TVs the brand has ever made. Right now, the 85-inch version of the QN90F is the same price as the aforementioned Samsung S84F. If you need a bright screen for daytime viewing, I recommend the QN90F over its similarly priced OLED-driven sibling.

LG 83" B5 4K OLED TV
LG 83" B5 4K OLED TV: was $4,499 now $2,499 at Best Buy

The LG B5 brings everything we love about OLED TVs down to a much friendlier price. Because of this, it's one of my favorite 83-inch OLEDs on shelves right now. The B5 supports Dolby Vision and offers a full slate of four HDMI 2.1 ports that all support 4K gaming at 120Hz. This makes it a terrific pick for football fans who also want an affordable OLED for streaming and gaming.

LG 83" C5 4K OLED TV
LG 83" C5 4K OLED TV: was $5,299 now $3,299 at Best Buy

My favorite TV on this list is the LG C5 OLED. It's brighter than the two previously mentioned OLED TVs (the B5 and the Samsung S84F), which means it's better suited for football fans that have bright living spaces. It doesn't just shine when it comes to sports, either. In our five-star LG C5 review, we showered this OLED TV with praise for its sensational performance, its class-leading selection of features and its approachable price point.
