Dream has had a busy time at CES 2026. Aside from its robot vacuums, it's also unveiled the Pilot 20 AI Intelligent Hair Dryer. What makes this different from, say, a Dyson hair dryer? Well, it features robotic sensing arms that analyze hair condition and adjust drying settings automatically.
It's fair to say this accessory represents a significant departure from traditional hair dryers by using AI and robotics to personalize the drying process.
The Pilot 20 is one of several announcements Dreame made at CES 2026, part of the company's largest product showcase to date, spanning six categories. While Dreame hasn't announced pricing or availability yet, the technology showcases where AI-powered personal care devices are heading.
Sensing arm scans, acting arm responds
The Pilot 20 uses two robotic arms to create a personalized drying experience. A Sensing Arm monitors scalp health and detects damage along individual hair strands using high-precision sensors.
An Acting Arm responds in real time, automatically adjusting temperature, airflow direction, and wind speed based on what the sensors detect. This aims to protect hair from heat damage while maintaining efficient drying, though Dreame hasn't released images showing how the arms physically work.
The hair dryer is powered by Dreame's self-developed 150,000 RPM high-speed motor that produces airflow up to 70 meters per second, significantly cutting drying time. It supports up to three user profiles, allowing household members to save and switch between personalized settings.
This product was just one of the many weird and wonderful gadgets unveiled at this year's event. Make sure you check out our list of the best 27 gadgets from the show here.
