The release of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has caused a rise in demand for a very specific accessory: Nintendo Switch styluses. Since you can draw every Mii’s face, clothing and home decor by hand, you’ll need the precision and comfort of a stylus to get everything looking pixel-perfect.

If you’re not sure where to find one, you’ve come to the right place. In fact, you might already own a stylus that will work with your console’s touch screen — you don’t need to pick up a Nintendo-branded one, you can grab any rubber-tipped stylus that you might use for your smartphone or tablet.

If not, there are lots of options out there on the web, so it’s all about finding the right one to suit your needs and comfort. For Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, my biggest recommendation is to pick up a stylus with a transparent disc tip. This will give you precise contact with the screen as well as a clear view of exactly what you’re drawing. However, if you’re not bothered about having a perfect view or like the feel of a larger stylus tip, I’ve included those options too.

(By the way, these Nintendo Switch styluses aren’t just good for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. They’re also great for creating custom clothing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, designing levels in Super Mario Maker 2 and more… the possibilities are endless.)
