3 new to Paramount+ movies you need to stream this weekend (May 22-24)
These Paramount+ movies are worthy of a movie marathon this weekend
Paramount+ is the perfect streaming service for building your next movie marathon. It adds dozens of movies at the beginning of each month; it just added 82 new movies and shows on May 1. Plus, it adds new movies from Paramount Skydance studios on an ongoing basis.
With so many newly added movies to choose from, though, it can be tough to know which movie to start with. The good news for you is that I've looked through the full list, and I've found the three movies you need to watch first this weekend.
This week I'm keeping things on the lighter side ... mostly. The first movie on my list is "Slanted." It's a bit of a dark film, but it's a new body horror-comedy that you'll definitely want to check out. Think "White Chicks" meets "The Substance." Once you're done with that, skip Jon Favreau's "The Mandalorian and Grogu" and stream his 90s comedy classic, "Swingers," instead. Finally, wind down with a classic that does not get talked about today nearly as much as it should: "School of Rock." With so much Mike White buzz in the air related to "Survivor 50" and "The White Lotus" season 4, it's worth revisiting this early 2000s classic he wrote.
So without further ado, here are the three new to Paramount+ movies that you need to be streaming this weekend. If you need more recommendations, check out our full guide to everything new on Paramount+ in May 2026.

Malcolm has been with Tom's Guide since 2022. He watches dozens of movies every year so you don't have to watch any bad ones.
'Slanted' (2026)
Genre: Body horror–comedy movie
What's it about? Joan Huang (Shirley Chen) is a Chinese-American high school girl, and she's no different from the typical high school teen. She wants to be prom queen, especially when one of the popular girls (Amelie Zilber) announces she isn't running, but she can't connect with her white classmates. So she takes a drastic step, turns to Ethnos, a clinic that specializes in ethnic modification surgery, which will turn her into a white girl (played by McKenna Grace).
Why you should watch it: If you can get on board with this movie's provocative themes, then this body horror-comedy is definitely one to watch. It's not a perfect film by any means, but I doubt you'll see anything else like it this year.

'Swingers' (1996)
Genre: Buddy comedy movie
What's it about? Mike (Jon Favreau) is a struggling comedian, still reeling from being dumped by Michelle. So his buddy Trent (Vince Vaughn) convinces him to go to Vegas for a spur-of-the-moment trip to get over her. It goes poorly, but when they get back to Los Angeles, Mike does slowly start to get back in the game, albeit with mixed results.
Why you should watch it: If you've ever heard "Vegas, baby, Vegas," it's because of this movie. It's also quite possibly responsible for the swing music revival of the 1990s, and almost certainly responsible for accelerating it. But most importantly, Favreau and Vaughn are great in this, as are Ron Livingston and Heather Graham. "Swingers" helped launch their careers, as well as the career of director Doug Liman, who would go on to direct "The Bourne Identity," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" and more.
Watch "Swingers" on Paramount+ starting May 1
'School of Rock' (2003)
Genre: Comedy movie
What's it about? Dewey Finn (Jack Black) is a struggling musician who has just been kicked out of his band. He's desperate to pay the rent, so when he receives a call meant for his roommate, Ned (Mike White), he takes a gig as a substitute teacher and turns his new students into his new rock band.
Why you should watch it: This movie is, simply put, great. It's a blast from start to finish and is one of Black's best performances of his career. At this point, it's honestly become underrated, so go ahead and hit play on it now, and get ready to rock out; if you can stop laughing.
