So without further delay, let's get into it. Here are the three new to Paramount+ movies you need to stream this weekend.
‘The Running Man' (2025)
Genre: Sci-fi action
What's it about? "The Running Man" is set in a dystopian near-future version of America where the economy is broken, and corporations rule what has become a police state. One way to get out of this late-stage capitalist Hell? Play the deadly game show, "The Running Man." It's a game that basically nobody survives, but Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is willing to take that risk to provide for his family.
Why you should watch it: While "The Running Man" falls short of its potential, it still manages to be a passable movie that's worth checking out now that it's on Paramount+. The scene with Powell and Michael Cera going through a house and killing fascist goons is worth the price of admission.

'Almost Famous' (2000)
Genre: Semi-autobiographical comedy-drama
What's it about? "Almost Famous" is loosely based on writer/director Cameron Crowe's time as a teenage writer for Rolling Stone magazine. It stars Patrick Fugit as William Miller, a stand-in for Crowe, who goes on tour with the fictional rock band Stillwater in hopes of landing his first big story.
Why you should watch it: Considered one of the best films of the 2000s, this movie is funny and charming and loaded with acting talent. Billy Crudup and Philip Seymour Hoffman both impress, but the real stars are Kate Hudson as the groupie Penny Lane and Frances McDormand as William's mother, both of whom earned Academy Award nominations.

'The Godfather' (1972)
Genre: Gangster drama
What's it about? The first chapter in "The Godfather" trilogy, this story centers around the rise of Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) from war hero to head of a Mafia family, as his aged father, Vito (Marlon Brando), is forced to step away from being the Don.
Why you should watch it: Entire books have been written about why this movie is great. It's a five-star masterpiece, with a script that keeps you engaged for nearly three hours of mafioso madness. But the selling point of this movie is typically its call sheet, which features a breakout performance from legendary actor Pacino, as well as Oscar noms for Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall and Brando, who won Best Actor for his portrayal of Vito.
