Weekends are made for switching off, and what better way to do that than diving into a show you haven’t seen before? If your watchlist is starting to feel a little stale, Netflix has added a fresh batch of series this week that are more than worthy of your downtime.
Among them: the return of a hit spy thriller, a brand-new adult animated comedy, and a compelling mystery that deserves more attention. These are the kinds of series that hook you fast. One episode turns into three and suddenly your weekend plans revolve around finding out what happens next.
To save you from endless scrolling, I’ve picked three new-to-Netflix shows that are absolutely primed for a satisfying binge this weekend.
‘The Night Agent’
One popular series that has returned with its third season is “The Night Agent.” That’s 10 hours of Gabriel Basso in full brooding mode as he unravels a shadowy conspiracy, and if you’re craving the same tension and action that made the first two seasons such a breakout hit, this latest chapter more than delivers. Above all, it’s solidly made and reliably entertaining. The closest comparison is the fast food of spy thrillers because it’s familiar, efficient and exactly what you expect.
“The Night Agent” season 3 sees FBI operative Peter Sutherland (Basso) thrust into a new, sprawling assignment after a young Treasury Department official kills his boss and escapes to Istanbul with sensitive government intelligence. Peter pursues him across multiple countries — including Istanbul, Mexico City, New York and Washington — as he digs into a dark money network tied to the leaked documents and tries to stay ahead of professional assassins sent to stop him. Along the way, he crosses paths with a driven financial reporter, Isabel (Genesis Rodriguez), and together they chase him down.

‘Strip Law’
If you’re in the mood for something funny and unhinged this weekend, “Strip Law” is definitely worth adding to your watchlist. Created by Cullen Crawford, this new adult animated comedy series offers plenty of irreverent humor and absurd courtroom antics as an uptight Vegas lawyer works with a flashy magician to tackle bizarre cases, giving the series a distinct comedic style. The first season has 10 episodes, each roughly 25 to 30 minutes long, making it even more compelling as a binge-watch.

“Strip Law” follows Lincoln Gumb (Adam Scott), a grumpy and boring lawyer in Las Vegas whose courtroom record is as unremarkable as his personality. His fortunes change when he partners with Sheila Flambé (Janelle James), a flashy local magician whose showmanship brings unexpected energy to even the most absurd legal cases. Together, they tackle some of the city’s most ridiculous disputes, merging legal strategy with over‑the‑top spectacle that often defies logic.

‘The Art of Sarah’
Since Netflix releases several new movies and shows each week, it’s not surprising that some newer titles get lost, especially international additions. “The Art of Sarah” is a Korean mystery thriller series that unfortunately received this treatment. The strength of this series comes from its focus on character psychology rather than just suspense. It opens with a vibe reminiscent of “Inventing Anna,” but as each character’s layers emerge, it becomes clear the creators are focused on the shadows beneath high society’s polished surface.
“The Art of Sarah” centers on Sarah Kim (Shin Hye‑sun), a woman who has built a life and reputation as a successful luxury brand executive in Seoul despite having no clear personal history. When a body believed to be hers is found beneath an upscale district and identified by a rare handbag, detective Park Mu‑gyeong (Lee Joon‑hyuk) begins investigating the case. He soon encounters conflicting evidence and multiple identities linked to Sarah’s past, forcing him to unravel who she really is. Anyone seeking something gripping and twisty should check this out.

Alix is a Senior Streaming Writer at Tom’s Guide, which basically means watching the best movies and TV shows and then writing about them. It’s a dream job for someone who’s been obsessed with storytelling since she first figured out how to work a remote.
Before joining Tom’s Guide, Alix honed her skills as a staff writer with outlets like Screen Rant and Bough Digital, where she discovered her love for the entertainment industry.
She heads to the cinema every week as a tradition, no matter what’s showing. For her, movies aren’t just entertainment — they’re a ritual, a comfort, and a constant source of inspiration. When she’s not at her desk or at the cinema, you’ll probably find her deep into a horror video game on her PC.
