ESET Home Security: 30% off 1-year plans @ ESET
ESET's antivirus packages are known for offering reasonable pricing, with a feature set that compares well to major brands. When we recently tested the Premium tier, we found that the software was light and ran fast. The scans actively look for threats like suspicious activity, and can block ransomware access in real time. In testing, we found the parental controls to be more comprehensive than competitors. Home Security Premium includes thoughtful features like a gamer mode, deep virus scanning and antitheft service.
In our ESET Home Security review we said that ESET offers powerful antivirus protection and useful features at an affordable price. We like ESET Premium because it offers extensive antivirus protection that goes far beyond the basics. For example, you can perform a quick scan or a custom scan. Unlike other antivirus apps, the custom scan isn’t just for selecting specific files and folders. Instead, it’s where you can choose to perform an “in-depth” scan that searches every last file on your computer including boot sector files.
Premium also scans for any suspicious activity using what ESET calls Deep Behavior Inspection. This is a more powerful form of antivirus scanning because it looks for suspicious activity, as opposed to just comparing files to a database.
After discount, you can get ESET Home Security Essential for $41, ESET Home Security Premium for $62, or ESET Home Security Ultimate for $125. The sale prices are for 1-year subscriptions and cover multiple devices.
