The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones have been my preferred commuter headphones for some time now. It's all down to their incredible noise canceling, which blocks out just about every conceivable noise while I'm on a train or a bus. Which I am — frequently.

Beyond the impressive noise canceling, my other favorite part of the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones is their soft padding and incredible light weight. I'm often forget that I'm wearing them, they're so comfortable, and I never feel like I want to tear them off after longer periods of wear.
It's all down to the well-judged clamping force, which, when coupled with the wonderful earcup and headband padding, makes them some of the most comfortable headphones you can buy today. I mean, you'd hope that headphones labelled 'QuietCOMFORT' would be comfortable. They sure do live up to that moniker.
The sound is also pretty excellent. They're a bassier pair of headphones than I usually prefer, but you can dial in your preferred sound in the solid Bose app. I like to bring the bass down a little and raise the highs for some extra sparkle. Your mileage may vary.
24 hours of battery isn't quite up there with the best, though, and they're a little rattly and shaky — but at this price? It's their lowest ever, and it makes for the headphone bargain of the year.
