Prime Day 2026 kicks off in Australia on Tuesday, July 7 and runs right through to Monday, July 13. It’s a full week this year — a rare treat, considering the US and UK are already doing their own thing throughout late June.

While the main event is still a couple of weeks away, the early deals have already started bubbling up, and they’re giving us a pretty good idea of what to expect. Think the usual Prime Day mix: power banks, earbuds, smart home gear, tablets, laptops — the stuff that quietly disappears from your cart when you hesitate for five minutes.

If you've been following our ongoing list of the best Amazon AU deals, you'll notice a consistent trend. Prices are already dropping across a bunch of categories, and it’s safe to assume many of these early offers are a warm‑up for the bigger cuts coming in July.

Most of the strongest discounts will be Prime-only, so if you want the full spread — including free expedited shipping — you’ll need a membership. The good news is that new users still get the first 30 days free, which conveniently covers the entire sale window.

In short: the early deals are here, the main wave is coming, and this year’s longer Aussie event gives you more time than most countries to snag something genuinely good. Here are the 10 best early Prime Day deals the Tom's Guide Savings Squad has spotted so far.

Save 49% (AU$27)
Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 (1 pack): was AU$55 now AU$28 at Amazon

Samsung's alternative to Apple's AirTag was redesigned in 2023 and has been reasonably well received, making it a good Bluetooth tracker for non-Apple users. It'll let you keep tabs on the location of whatever you attach it to and, critically, it works with Android. It costs a little more than a single AirTag at full price, but this discount makes it easy to recommend.

We love the iPhone Air’s slim, lightweight design, impressive 6.5-inch ProMotion display, and speedy A19 Pro chip, though its single rear camera and average battery life make it a hard sell at full price. Luckily, this massive AU$852 discount makes it a much easier recommendation.
