Facebook CEO: I Wanted People to See My Pics

- By - Source : Tom's Guide US

There's been a lot of controversy surrounding Facebook's recent changes to the site's privacy settings. One of the bigger headlines to come out of it was the fact that even CEO Mark Zuckerberg seemed to be having problems figuring things out.

Soon after the changes were made, folks noticed that Zuckerbeg's profile was a lot more open. Previously, his information was locked in tight but now we could see his events, his photo albums, his friends list. What was going on?

It didn't take long for Mark to get himself sorted and set everything to "only friends" but the media was buzzing. Over 300 photos had been available to the public. Pictures of Zuckerberg at friends' houses; shirtless; drunk; with his family and even a shot of him cuddling a teddy bear.

Now Zuckerberg says he did it on purpose. According to Britain's Mail Online, the young CEO says he was just trying to be more open. "For those wondering, I set most of my content on my personal Facebook page to be open so people could see it," says Zuckerberg. "I set some of my content to be more private, but I didn't see a need to limit visibility of pics with my friends, family or my teddy bear :)'

I'm already missing those 'locked' privacy settings.

Nothing is private anymore, if someone wants to see pics of you, they will try hard enough and succeed, and if they want any other information, they could probably get it.

Think its kind of cool to see him outside his facebook CEO role just being a normal person of his age.

I'm really getting sick of all the changes they're making to facebook period. I use to love it, because it was just a simple social network, now there are tons of ads and apps that drive me insane. I want the old FB back

what, because he's a CEO of a giant social networking site he's not allowed to be human? kudos to him for not being the standard "CEO=I never do anything that could make me look silly/crazy/NORMAL guy."

as far as the changes go, they don't really matter too much to me. anything that i don't want people to see, pics or statuses, wouldn't be on my facebook anyway. common sense people, don't post things you don't want others to see/read.

Ya right! He wasn't sharing those photos before, all of a sudden they are there for us to see. Some of those pics are clearly private and personal, and no "professional" would want them to be seen by the world. Nothing inherently wrong with any of the pictures, but why lie and pretend like he planned it. Dude it's OK just figure out how to set the appropriate privacy settings.

"I will tell you what I think if I decide to ever use facebook."

Amen to that, I used to have a profile a while back before getting bored/disgusted with it. Facebook = online hub for bad photography, b****ing, crying, complaining, and gossip.

Why would I give a flying fk for his pictures really... Does he look anything like Carmen Electra? I didnt think so. He can keep hugging his bear and drinking his ass off all he wants.

If you want privacy then be private. Don't complain when your information gets out because YOU posted it. Don't put the info on facebook or any other site and you have nothing to worry about.

"Now Zuckerberg says he did it on purpose." bullshit.

On the other hand, he's a kid - and they have fun. It's normal even for a young CEO. Lucky him. You all just jealous.

Jealous of what? He is a jackass, and his page is crap. Nothing to be jealous.
