Blockbuster Sued Over Facebook Beacon Advertising

Blockbuster is being sued over its partnership with Facebook and its Beacon marketing program which a Texas woman says violated her rights to privacy. Cathryn Elaine Harris has filed a lawsuit in Dallas stating that Blockbuster violated the federal Video Privacy Protection Act when it shares its rental information. Harris is seeking $2500 per violation by Blockbuster and Facebook, as stated in the act.

That lady sounds like a stupid gold DIGGER! She should seriously get a life and make some money for herself like most of us instead of trying to say she has been VIOLATED!!! Holy hell....you rented a rated G movie named SHREK today, and I saw that you rented a rated R movie last week.

Get a grip and stop trying to make money off of a mistake IF THAT.

Sue the heck out of them. Thats utter privacy violation and I think this is afr from frivolous. The only ones complaining are those making making money off this kind of illicit activity.

Hopefully more people will cause problems for facebook, so they will finally take privacy concerns seriously. fb is ridiculous. the first time i saw the blockbuster stuff show up on fb i was disgusted.
