China Throws Internet Porn Monger in Jail

5:51 PM - February 9, 2010 - By Marcus Yam - Source : Tom's Guide US

Porn dealer gets thrown in jail.

China's been making a constant effort to weed out questionable material from its country, including pornography. One man was sentenced to 13 years in jail for running a pornographic website, reported China Daily.

Huang Yizhong since 2005 ran a server that he rented from inside the United States. Huang downloaded more than 1,000 pornographic films and edited them into shorter clips that his 4,000 paying members could view online. He reportedly received profits of around 500,000 yuan ($73,242).

In addition to the 13-year sentence, Huang was also fined 100,000 yuan ($14,600).

Good point, but 13 years is a long sentence. Quite harsh really.

what is the illegal activity that he is doing time for? whats the crime?

He will be smacked with a serious fine for this by the porn industry:
"Huang downloaded more than 1,000 pornographic films and edited them into shorter clips that his 4,000 paying members could view online."

I have to read the full/real article i guess to see what he is actually charged with...

If he put that in his saving and/or invest in it some how, then after 13 years he will have even more money ....

The crime is that porn (or "questionable material") is illegal in China. Thats why places like Yahoo and Google have been having such an issue with China because of their intense amounts of federally mandated censorship.

I'm sure the "judge" or whatever they call their legal person over there thoroughly examined all the content for every offensible bit of pornography in order to make sure the sentence was just.

No porn in China? Teenage male homicide and suicide must be rampant over there.

Ppl are forgetting that chinese prison isn't like the holiday camps they have in the uk etc. 13yrs could kill you in their prisons. China has a spotty record with human rights for regular citizens so I'd imagine it's much worse if you're convicted.

since when is porn illegal? phuck china, but still this does not mean that it's our business, so we need to stay out of their business.

Shaikh was arrested in 2007 for carrying a suitcase with almost ***9 pounds (4 kilograms) of heroin*** into China on a flight from Tajikistan. ok. a good reason that if everyone is claim to be mental ill and could legally deal with drug and get rich. funny that how a mental ill person would got 9 pounds of drug with cost couple million dollars? I believe that why the chinese government executed this person with no mercy mostly they want to set a remark. they give you a visa to china. but you dont cross the line to break their law or they will kill you. china got the most population in the world. they need stronger law to control these people. and they successful to bring food for everyone there. I dont believe that the western world happy to see the chinese rise so fast and wanted to bring freedom there. I believe the chinese need more job than they need more freedom. they believe working bring them money. money is poof of quality for life.

Thanks god I live where I have the freedom so sin or not to sin without legal repercussions...except drugs.Which I dont think is right to lock up drug users that are non violent.Of any drug.Drug addiction is a health problem not a freakin crime.

anyways Scew china's rulers to hell man they do some messed up stuff.Pisses me off and makes me sad at the same time the people like you and me have to put up with this garbage.

13 years just for damn porn and killing a mentally ill NON Chinese citizen.I wish it was an american they killed. We would have made a bigger deal about it...at least I hope we would...OUr government is messing up and getting corrupt and america isnt really the great country it once was.

I'd like to see the online logs of the ruling members of the Chinese government. My money is on them downloading porn, when they're not copying patented technologies.

is your sister. mother. and your daughter a porn star? I m happy to pay you to download their fuking video. how is that?

What would that matter? Who are you to judge what someone else does, even if it's your mother, sister or daughter? It's their choice, you don't have to like it. If I wanted to be a porn star, I'd give it a go and there's nothing you could say or do that would change my mind.

Sadly, yes, there are still countries where they tell you where you will work, what you will wear, what you can and cannot watch in the media, what you can and cannot read in a paper, basically they tell you how are going to live your life and contribute to their society.
If you do not like it, tough. They will execute you or toss you into a hell hole they call a prison, and forget about you. Period. Ironic isn't it that half of everything the average person owns was made in China. Think about that for a while.

Yes double standards in China. Go watch this movie:

Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xiu_X [...] _Down_Girl

And check out this link about prostitution in China:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prost [...] c_of_China

They condemn porn yet corrupt government officials actively engage in illegal sex with minors.

Funnily, you can watch porn movies on saunas in "5" star hotel in China. Better... you can get massage and sex while watching a porn movie in a sauna in a 5 star hotel in China - for less than 1000 Yuan (146USD/106€). But guess that to have a 5 star hotel and a website is not quite the same (at least the later would need a lot of good standing in the local CCP).
