VOTW: Snoop Dogg Blows Up an Armored Truck
Probably the best thing to come out of Mafia Wars, ever.
Mafia Wars is already insanely popular, as is FarmVille and any other title from publisher Zynga. Lately, the company really been throwing themselves into advertising and this live webcast of Snoop Dogg is just another example of that.
Zynga wanted to promote Mafia Wars Las Vegas, and figured the best way to do this would be to take Snoop Dogg out into the desert to blow up a 4-ton armored truck. The event was a celebration for Mafia Wars LV reaching 10 million visitors in two weeks.
Leaving aside the fact that FarmVille is the exact opposite of my cup of tea, this video has a lot of things going for it. It's got a big badaboom; the always entertaining Snoop Dogg sporting pigtails and the same hair ties I had when I was six-years-old; and exploding trucks. It also managed to break UStream records by pulling in more than 2 million live viewers to become the most viewed original event.
