I’ve tested almost every Hoka running shoe and 3 of my favorites are reduced right now
Save on great running shoes in the Hoka sale
I’ve been reviewing running shoes for over a decade and the price of top sneakers has climbed steeply in that time, but the truth is you never have to pay full price to get a great set of running shoes.
If you’re willing to shop around, there are always big discounts available, and Hoka’s in-house sale is a reliable spot for finding them if you’re a fan of the brand’s shoes.
I’ve tested and reviewed almost every shoe in Hoka’s current line-up, and almost all of the previous generation models as well, and there are some excellent sneakers on sale right now, whatever kind of shoe you're looking for.
Those deals include a 20% saving on the popular Hoka Clifton 10, which is $124 in the Hoka sale, but that’s not actually one of the three shoes I’ve picked out below — instead I recommend looking at the Hoka Skyflow and Hoka Challenger 8 for daily trainers, and the Cielo X1 2.0 carbon plate racing shoe.
Quick links
- Hoka Challenger 8: was $155 now $124 @ Hoka
- Hoka Skyflow: was $160 now $128 @ Hoka
- Hoka Cielo X1 2.0: was $275 now $192 @ Hoka
Hoka running shoe deals
The Hoka Challenger 8 is a comfortable road-to-trail shoe that offers a lot of versatility as a daily trainer. Not only can it handle runs on both roads and light trails, it's also well-equipped for a variety of paces thanks to its cushioned but lightweight design. I took the Challenger 8 away on a trip as my only shoe for both running and general use and it worked perfectly in this role.
The Hoka Skyflow doesn't have the heritage of more popular cushioned options like the Clifton and Bondi, but I actually rate it more highly than those shoes as a daily trainer. It has a supercritical midsole foam that provides both comfort and a bit of pop at faster paces, and the fact it flies under the radar means you can get a great deal on the Skyflow right now.
Carbon plate racing shoes aren't for everyone, but if one of the reasons you've avoided them is the inflated prices, this deal might be worth looking at. It brings the speedy Cielo X1 2.0 down below $200, and that's a great place on a super-shoe that impressed me when I raced a couple of half marathon in it. The newer Cielo X1 3.0 is an upgrade, partly because it's more stable, but the Cielo X1 2.0 is still certainly a fast option that can help you set PRs.
