We just gave this Samsung OLED TV a 4-star review, and now the 55-inch model is on sale for just $897 at Amazon

OLED TVs are known for their excellent performance, robust features, and unfortunately, their relatively high price when compared to garden-variety, LED-based TVs. But every now and then, an OLED TV will go on sale for a price that many of us can afford, and these are the deals worth celebrating.

Today, you can land a 55-inch Samsung S85F for just $897 at Amazon. That's down a full $500 from its usual price, and easily one of the best OLED TV deals I've seen this week.

Samsung's entry-level OLED may not be as much of a showstopper as the brand's flagship-level OLED TVs, but it still offers all of the benefits we've come to expect from this incredible display technology, including perfect black levels and pixel-level dimming. It also comes with a useful array of gaming enhancements and streaming features.

As an affordable, entry-level OLED, the S85F offers a ton of upside without the added cost typically associated with high-end TVs. Here's why it's one of my favorite OLEDs on shelves right now.

The S85F takes all of the perks we love about OLED display technology and brings them down to a friendlier price. This makes it a great option for people who may be intrigued by the prospect of upgrading to an OLED TV, but who have previously shied away from their relatively high price tags.

The S85F isn't as bright as the step-up Samsung S90F and the flagship-level S95F OLED, but it benefits greatly from the built-in advantages of OLED. Since this type of TV is capable of perfect black levels and pixel-level dimming, highlights practically leap off of the screen.

So while the S85F isn't as bright as pricier, higher-end OLEDs, you're still getting an eye-catching, high-contrast picture. In fact, in our Samsung S85F review, we commended this TV for being significantly brighter than LG's entry-level OLED (the LG B5), which is a direct competitor of the Samsung S85F.

You're getting a ton of streaming- and gaming-related features right out of the box.

Just as the S85F delivers a ton of value on the performance side of things, it's also flush with a more-generous set of features than one might expect given its entry-level status. In fact, it offers many of the same bells and whistles as what you'll find on higher-end Samsung OLEDs like the aforementioned S90F and S95F.

You're getting a ton of streaming- and gaming-related features right out of the box, including support for 4K gaming at 120Hz across four HDMI 2.1 inputs. This makes it an excellent choice for both casual and competitive gaming.

And, while I don't find the S845's built-in, Tizen-based smart platform to be as streamlined and easy to use as Google TV or Roku, Samsung's user interface has improved in recent years. The built-in streaming software supports a ton of downloadable streaming apps, too.

If you've been waiting for an opportunity to upgrade to OLED for a budget-friendly price, the S85F is a top-notch candidate. Don't sleep on Amazon's discount this weekend.
